Wow, Deadpool and MLP — bet that wasn’t a combination you’d ever think you’d see, unless of course, you watch Death Battle . But I digress.
Let’s put aside this odd “Deadpool and ponies” combo for a second.
Because we should talk about Funko Pops in general.
Some of my older correspondents might not know what these things are supposed to be.
Well, pretty much what you see is what you get.
They’re these stylized versions of popular film characters, important figures in books or on TV, even some celebrities have their own Funko Pop.
But how popular are these things really?
Well, let’s crunch some numbers here.
As of August 2018, there were 5,992 individual Funko Pop characters made.
And considering that one Golden Dumbo is worth $2,500, it’s safe to say there’s a lot of people who enjoy and collect these things.
Seriously, there are so many gosh darn Funko Pops.
Everyone one from Homer Simpson to a White Walker version of Conan O’Brien has been immortalized in the realm of these strange toys. Very strange indeed.
But now, we should talk about the movie.
For those comic book fans out there who have always dreamed about seeing Marvel and DC characters in the same film, look no further than this upcoming movie.
And mark our words, it’s really coming.
Slash Film confirmed on January 28th, 2019 that the film will be happening, and it will be produced by the same guys who did The Lego Movie , Warner Bros.
They also announced some characters as well.
While most plot details have been kept a secret, writer Dan Richtman has confirmed a practical myriad of characters for this toy related movie.
First off, there’s Deadpool.
Folks out there are wondering if Ryan Reynolds will be reprising his role as the Merc With A Mouth.
We know he’s not married to the “R” rating, because of his PG-13 Once Upon A Deadpool .
However, if he doesn’t want to do it, there is one other guy we can see as Deadpool.
That man is Nolan North, the guy who played Deadpool in animated movies, video games, etc, for years before Ryan Reynolds was in the picture.
He was the original Regenerating Degenerate.
We also know that some “My Little Pony” characters will take part.
But who will make an appearance?

Will they do the Death Battle thing and have Pinkie Pie face off against Deadpool? Uh…. probably not.
And there have been so many others announced.
Remember that writer from before, Dan Richtman?
Well, after announcing (or helping to announce) the film, he returned to Twitter with a slew of characters that will appear in the film.
Some have hope for the little film that could.
There are people out there who are anticipating the new Funko Pop! movie, hoping lightning will strike twice and we’ll be blessed with another Lego Movie .
However, some people aren’t convinced.
Others think it will be less of a Lego Movie and more of an Emoji Movie . As in, it’ll be a huge bomb. We can only hope it won’t be.
Some have even gone to Twitter to express their distaste.
Then again, these were probably the people saying that The Lego Movie would be a totally lame flick, a total corporate sellout, yadda yadda yadda.
