Woah! The ’80s were all about some really violent horror scenes, so this comes as a bit of a surprise.
What scene could it be? What could it be about?
It’s (at the time of writing) Halloween time, so there’s no better time to dive head first into some great ’80s horror.

If you want my opinion, check out Re-Animator . It’s all that ’80s cheese you love so much with a whole bunch of creative gore.
It’s a real treat and won’t even scare you that much!
But we’re not here to talk about ‘Re-Animator’.

Right! This one is all about The Lost Boys , an ’80s vampire movie that’s got a pretty big cult following in recent years.
Today, we’re going to talk about a scene so violent it got cut.
In a recent interview with Yahoo, Kiefer Sutherland talked about the scene.

Sure, he liked the scene, but it just had to be cut.
He starts by saying: “There was a scene that actually didn’t make the movie that I was really, really excited about, mainly because it was just so violent I couldn’t believe that we were doing it”
Here’s how the scene went:

“It’s sort of in the movie — they cut around it — but there was a guy on a beach and he was bald and they had made a prosthetic cast of his head.”
“And the part of the scene that I loved the most was literally, it was like a cake: I ate the whole back of his head off and blood just went everywhere. I had been directed to just smile like a child having cake, and the two images were so frightening and scary.”
Nice!
