Well, it looks like Jane The Virgin is finally done, and just like in Gossip Girl , we finally found out who the narrator was this whole time.
And it was someone we knew!
‘Jane The Virgin’.

After five long seasons of twists, turns, love, and betrayal, the telenovela has finally come to an end.
Its fifth season was one that will stay in the hearts of fans forever.
So let’s see…

Where did our characters leave off after the series finale?
Well, I can tell you this, dearest reader, it’s a place where fans will be happy. It’s refreshing when a series does that.
First off…

Jane and Rafael Solano got married, which was something fans of the show were dying to see since the characters were introduced.
And their connection is a weird one, to say the least.
Besides all the other connections, the two of them share a very strong bond.

It was Rafael’s sister, Luisa, who artificially got Jane pregnant after she was supposed to give her a pap smear.
Oops!

I tell ya, if I had a nickel for every time I accidentally got pregnant when I went in for a pap smear I’d have like… at least six or seven nickels.
Lame jokes aside, we finally got to see Jane sell her book, for the tiny sum of $500,000.

Psh, please, you call that book money?
Cause I certainly do.
She got the ending she wanted, from her book at least.

In the end, she says her book gets turned into a telenovela, and her husband asks: “who would want to watch that?”
And then of course, she turns and winks to the camera.

Because we are obviously the people who would want to watch a telenovela about Jane’s love life, and all the trails that come with it.
Speaking of which…

We finally learned who the narrator was, which was a question that had been plaguing fans since the series started.
And trust me, the reveal is something you’re not going to want to miss.
It’s Mateo!

That’s right, none other than a grown-up version of the son she has during the series is the one who is now telling the story of his mother’s love life.
How sweet.

And here’s how we find out:
Let me paint the scene for you. There we are, at Jane and Rafael’s wedding, reveling in the beauty and wonderfulness that is that couple.
Mateo goes onstage and gives a speech to his new father, and it’s beautiful and wonderful and whatever.

His mother then praises him on his public speaking skills, which as previously mentioned are beautiful and so forth.
He replies…

That he had been practicing with his “Great Glam-ma” Liliana, and that she told him he would be great at voiceover work.
And then, the narrator drops his accent and says…
“And for the record, I am”

And there we go!
Not only did his mom’s story get turned into a telenovela, but he also got to be the hilarious narrator for it! What an awesome ending!
What do you think?

Is it cool that Mateo was the narrator the whole time? Was it something you saw coming all along?
Or was it totally and completely mind-blowing when you found it out?
