In a perfect world, adults wouldn’t need to be reminded to leave public or workplace toilets nice and clean. But we don’t live in a perfect world, and some people are pretty nasty. Hence, why some places keep little signs up to remind bathroom-goers to keep the space clean (and to wash their hands, but that’s a whole different conversation).
Earlier this week, Reddit user Aegis12314 posted a baffling bathroom sign found at his workplace to the Mildly Interesting community . What makes the sign so interesting is that it seems to be a printout of a picture of a sign, if that even makes sense.

The Sign Is Equal Parts Confusing And Concerning.
The user’s picture shows the sign. It’s made of a piece of paper, onto which an image of a sign was printed. It’s pretty clear that, rather than photocopy the sign, someone took a picture of it and then printed it out. It could be due to the droplets of liquid found all around the original sign.
The sign itself is mostly white, with an image of a toilet on it. The toilet is smiling and has hearts surrounding it. The only text on the sign reads, “Could you please leave the toilet as you found it… Clean and fresh! Thank you.”
The Reddit Community Had A Field Day With The Sign.
Users were pretty quick to point out that, despite the sign asking bathroom-goers to keep the toilet “clean and fresh,” it didn’t look so fresh or clean itself. Of course, that provided plenty of opportunities for users to crack jokes in the comment section.
Some Users Expressed Discomfort Over How The Toilet Looked.
What with its weird face and all, some people were worried that it might enjoy being a toilet a little too much. Of course, that just meant that more people found the chance to tell more jokes, as it goes.
Plenty Of Users Were Caught Up On The Strange Droplets Visible In The Image.
The droplets are in the picture of the sign, and not on the sign itself. After one user asked why there were so many droplets on the original sign, OP gave his own theory. He thinks (or maybe hopes) it’s water from the bathroom sink.
But Since The Sign Is A Picture Of A Sign, Other Users Saw It As An Opportunity For Practical Jokes.
When you look close enough at the sign, you can see that the background of the original matches the backdrop it’s currently on. Some users thought it would be funny to take a picture of that sign and post it as a new sign and see if anyone notices. I have to admit, that would be pretty funny.
