It’s quite possible that the biggest TV event of this year wasn’t the Super Bowl or the Oscars, but the end of _Game of Thrones. And the beginning of the end is upon us!
WARNING: Spoiler Alert!
Where so many other seasons kicked off with fanfare, Season Eight sets the table for an epic finish, but before the big battles, we clearly have some loose ends to tie up.

You know what that means: reunions.
For the characters who’ve actually managed to survive the previous seven seasons, some of these meetings have been a long time coming.
And they weren’t all happy reunions.
Last season, it was Jon and Sansa reuniting and teaming up to kick Ramsay Bolton out of Winterfell. This season, we finally get to see Jon and Arya reunited, and it’s about time.

And oh man the feels! They haven’t seen each other since the first season, and so, so much has happened for both of them in that time that they clearly can’t possibly explain.
Here’s the question: does Arya even want Jon to know she’s an assassin now? Because she’s always looked up to him. She might want to keep some things under wraps.
Theon’s reunion with Yara got him a taste of redemption and a hint that he might be getting some of his mojo back.

I was kind of surprised to find myself rooting a bit for Theon after all the awful things he’s done – but man I felt that headbutt Yara gave him. Now to see if that smartens him up!
Now, is Theon going to get some momentum out of his successful rescue mission?
Arya got to have a couple of other big reunions too, with The Hound and Gendry.
So, kind of awkward to meet up with the dude who begged you to kill him and then left to die.
But did anybody else catch the warm eyes between Arya and Gendry? Do we sense some sparks between Arya and the guy on the forge?
And there’s a big reunion on the horizon, something else on simmer from the first episode: Bran and Jaime.
Forgot about them, right? And given how their first encounter went, and how creepy and all-knowing Bran is now, this is going to be an interesting meeting!
What did you think of the big premiere?
