Elise Caffee, popular family and travel influencer, has died in Mexico after the vehicle she was in crashed into a truck carrying hot asphalt.
She was travelling with her husband

The influencer who is also known as ‘3 Kids Travel’ on social media was traveling with her husband to a wedding in Mexico when their car hit a truck that was carrying hot asphalt on a freeway in Cancun.
The family announced that Caffee died on Wednesday 12 March when the truck flipped the car, causing her to be trapped under the latter while “steaming hot asphalt” was pouring on top of her.
“Elise and Dan arrived in Mexico for a wedding on March 6th and on the way to their hotel they were involved in a 10+ car pileup on a freeway in Cancun,” they wrote in a post on Instagram.
The family shared a photo of the wreckage

Posting on a new Instagram account, the family shared a photo of the wreckage and described how Caffee had passed away.
Quickly after the incident the mother of three was treated in Mexico but was then flown while in critical condition to continue treatment at a burn unit in Salt Lake City. She had to undergo surgery to remove damaged tissue and remained in critical condition but she tragically passed away a couple of days later.
They wrote a heartfelt message
The family wrote a heartfelt message as they shared the news, “We are absolutely heartbroken to share the news of Elise’s passing tonight. She held on so long and fought so hard against an impossibly difficult set of circumstances.”
“Absolutely everything that could have been done for her was done and we are so grateful she was able to make it back home to say goodbye to her family before leaving us.”
Caffee is a mother of three

In the post which included a family photo, the family added, “We believe in eternal families and know we’ll see our beautiful mom, sister, wife, and daughter again.”
“We’re so grateful for all the prayers and love that have buoyed us up in the last few days and that we know will continue to in the days ahead.”
The driver of the car also passed away

The man who was driving the vehicle also passed away from the incident while the vlogger’s husband only suffered minor injuries.
The family set up a GoFundMe

The Utah-based family has organized a GoFundMe fundraiser asking for donations to support the deceased driver’s family in Mexico.
Elise Caffee leaves behind her husband and three daughters. Her vlogging was inspirational to many, as she used to believe that ‘you can take your kids everywhere,’ encouraging her viewers to take their families along in new experiences.
