Dogs have spent centuries building up their reputation as man’s best friend, one they still valiantly uphold to this day. They’re endlessly loyal, incredibly smart, and love their humans unconditionally.
This is displayed no better than in one dog that helped local police respond to a severe crash, saving the lives of the humans involved, and earning herself some well-deserved respect.
Earlier this month, the New Hampshire State Police made an astounding Facebook post.

It starts simple enough, detailing a call that they say a Trooper Sandberg responded to of a, “loose canine on the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge located on Interstate 89 at the New Hampshire/Vermont [border] in Lebanon.”
Sandberg, nor any of the Lebanon Police Officers with him, had any clue what would happen next.
It didn’t take long for the team to locate the dog, a large German Shepard.

However, as soon as they tried to approach it, it ran northbound. This continued on for some time, with the dog leading the officers further and further up the road, not deviating from its path.
That was until the dog stopped by a damaged piece of guardrail.
Beyond that guardrail was a shocking sight.

There was a rolled, badly damaged pick up truck in the ditch next to the road, having presumably crashed through the guard rail.
“As the Officers investigated further, they realized that both occupants of the pickup truck had been ejected from the vehicle and were hypothermic and seriously injured,” the post writes. They called for medical assistance immediately after.
While they waited for paramedics to arrive, the officers focused back on the dog.

They learned that her name is Tinsley, and that she belonged to one of the injured occupants involved in the crash, later identified as Cam Laundry.
Having survived the crash unscathed, Tinsley ran for help, catching the attention of passers-by who then called the police. With the police there, she was able to lead them to her injured owner.
The comments on this post were singing Tinsley’s praise.

“Amazing! That dog deserves an award,” wrote one response, “Also Thank You to the Officers for not disregarding the dog!”
“There has got to be some sort of honoring and a medal for this hero pup, [she] had the forethought to go for help to save people [she’s] amazing,” said another.
And there has since been updates on both Tinsley’s and the occupants’ conditions.

Both men in the vehicle have been treated and released, and Tinsley’s owner is incredibly grateful.
In an interview with NBC5 , Laundry said, “She’s my little guardian angel you know. It’s a miracle that she had that kind of intelligence to do what she did.”
And don’t worry, he rewarded her well, saying, “She gets spoiled all the time. She’ll get some venison probably burger tonight and probably some back scratches with it.”
