Some pictures can be so strange , mostly because the perspective is really messing things up. But after staring for a few seconds, those strange pictures may make a little more sense.
And these pics are no exception. They definitely don’t look the way they seem at first. Just give yourself a second, and maybe you’ll figure them out.
“The shadows cast by the curtains look like a dragon on the left attacking a village on the right curtain.”

It’s amazing how a shadow can look completely different from the thing that cast it. And it’s amazing what kinds of shapes you can find when the lighting is just right.
“The shadow cast by a tree on this house.”

Meanwhile, this shadow looks pretty intense. It almost looks like the house is being consumed by a giant monster tree. Good think it’s just a shadow of a tree that’s probably regular-sized, right?
“This crab I found that sorta sits under the waters surface tension.”

I’m not going to lie, I can’t stop staring at this picture. The fact that the tiny crab is just beneath the surface of the water is kind of incredible. How does nature do it?
“Lantern makes the branches look like a giant spider web.”

For a split second, it really does look like there’s a spider web all up in that tree. But it’s just the way the light is reflecting off the branches. Kind of crazy, don’t you think?
“This artist painting directly on the frame.”

I have to hand it to the artist who did this (pun totally intended). It’s pretty clever. Though, it might take a second to really figure out what’s going on in this painting.
“The way the eyes of my cat with heterochromia react to flash.”

It kind of looks like this cat is wearing colorful contact lenses, rather than just having differently-colored eyes that got caught in the flash of the picture. Either way, it’s kind of eerie.
“Cool insect in our biology lab.”

I hate these kinds of bugs, because they look exactly like leaves. I get that that’s kind of the point, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. I don’t want to second guess if a pile of leaves is actually a mantis in disguise.
“This slate arrangement next to a staircase is in the form of a Fibonacci Spiral.”

The way the pattern was placed somehow looks accidental and purposeful at the same time. I’m sure it was no accident, though. Even if it does look like a bunch of people were walking around with salt on their shoes.
“Chocolate syrup in vodka.”

I guess this is what happens when you squirt chocolate syrup directly into a glass full of vodka, and don’t bother to stir it up at all. Kind of looks like there’s a pile of worms on the bottom.
“This spoonful of butter looks like a horse.”

Sure, this may be a spoonful of butter that looks like a horse, but it’s also a spoonful of butter that looks like a stack of Pringles that look kind of like a horse. At a glance, at least.
“This raspberry has a stripe.”

Even though it’s literally just a raspberry, it looks a lot like a very tiny pair of dentures to me. I guess that light-colored stripe is doing a lot more than just being a strange discolored part of the berry.
“The logos floated off the M&Ms that I dropped into my coffee.”

Amazing how the M&Ms themselves melted in the hot coffee, but the stamped letters decided to stick around a bit longer. Who needs latte art when you could just have floating letters?
“We have an ice cream man who drives by our house at night in the middle of winter.”

Yes, you’re seeing that right. There’s at least one ice cream truck driver in the world who drives around, hoping people are willing to brave the cold for a slightly less cold treat. Amazing.
“My dad took this photo that looks like I’m talking to myself.”

I was about to ask why these people had a mirror in their dining room, but then I realized that we’re looking at the reflection in the TV. Crazy how perspective can totally transform a picture.
“We caught an anchor with our boat’s anchor.”

I’m not going to lie, I still don’t know what I’m looking at here. Two anchors, I guess. How you end up finding a whole anchor is beyond me, though.
Seeing double.
I’m seriously impressed by the tattoo artist who did this. It’s kind of amazing how people can make such beautiful and thought-provoking pieces of art on human skin. It’s like your body is a canvas!
The dramatic way this cat’s reflection blends into the tree out the window.
I’m not sure what’s going on with the reflection here, but it’s so cool! Now, we have a cute kitty-tree hybrid that would probably be utterly terrifying if it existed in real life.
“Fern growing out of a volcanic vent in Hawaii.”

I feel like that hole isn’t nearly as deep as it looks from this angle. Then again, as a volcanic vent, it could absolutely be even deeper than it looks. Now my head hurts…
“The potatoes for my stew look like they’re made of ham or sausage.”

This looks like a slice of Spam, or like a meatloaf piece or something. It’s hard to believe that it’s really a potato (or a sweet potato). I almost wouldn’t want to eat that. Almost.
“This bird looks like it’s part of a plane formation.”

At first, I thought this was a group of birds, not a plane formation with a bird in the middle. Either way, I wonder if that bird knew what it was doing in that moment.
