There are certain things that you expect out of a day in your life—things to see and experience that make sense based on where and how you live. Even ‘unexpected’ things are, usually, in the realm of possibility.
Since most of us aren’t movie stars, it’s rare that we get the opportunity to come face to face with a situation that seems, well, too wild to be true.
Photographers can find beauty in the simplest of things.
And they kind of have to, as not everyone has access to breathtaking landscapes or uniquely beautiful friends.
We all know that travel isn’t cheap.

Normally, those who look to make a living off more exciting photos have to travel and spend a lot of money and energy on looking for the right adventure.
However, one Alaskan photographer didn’t have to go very far.

Tim Newton of Anchorage, Alaska, shares his visual work on the Facebook page Tim Newton Photography .
Most of his photos are of landscapes and animals that you’d expect to find in his area, but one morning, Newton awoke to the sound of shuffling on his front porch, and discovered something he’d never thought he would witness.
A mama lynx and her seven kits were playing right in front of his door.

“These seven kits were such a joy to watch playing on our deck!” Newton wrote on a Facebook post, “Mama was very watchful over them.”
He found that the mama was QUITE interested in what he was doing.
“She’s taking a good long look at that nearby photographer and his clicking camera!” the post continued.
Newton was able to capture the babies jumping around and exploring the property.

One commentor pointed out that the family looked a little too comfortable on the porch: “Watching them makes me wonder if Mom hasn’t used your deck as a playground before ,” she wrote.
“Let’s go over and play at Uncle Tim’s while he’s sleeping, kids”
OKay, FINE. I love Lynxes now. They’re my new favorite animal. Are you happy Mama Lynx? Are you proud of yourself?
Though these rambunctious guys were found in Alaska, their species name would suggest otherwise.

The only species of lynx found in this part of North America are actually called Canadian Lynx , which are native to Northern Canada and parts of Alaska.
They may be native to the area, but seeing an entire family of them is still a sight to behold.

I don’t know about you, but I think Tim is pretty lucky that he didn’t have a pet dog lounging around anywhere.
Life is truly full of surprises.

And as you can see, Tim Newton is looking to capture any surprise that comes his way with a heck of a lot of talent.
