A pharma millionaire has been found dead in her home hours after the supreme court revoked her bail over a judgment convicting her of the manslaughter of her eight-year-old son, who was diagnosed with autism and killed in 2010.

The 62-year-old was found lifeless on the floor of her apartment in Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn, around 12:30 a.m., with authorities investigating the incident as a suspected suicide.

Convicted Of Manslaughter
Jordan was convicted of killing her son Jude Mirra in February 2010 in a hotel room at Peninsula Hotel in Manhattan, a decision she claimed she made out of fear.
“I didn’t see any way out of this situation,” she has said during the trial. “I made a decision that I was going to end my life and Jude’s life.”

The millionaire gave her son Jude a deadly mix of painkillers, sleeping pills, and tranquilizers, all mixed inside a glass of juice and alcohol before she tried to kill herself. The substance was explicitly identified to be Xanax, Ambien, and Vodka.
Reason Why Jordan Committed Manslaughter
Prosecutors have, however, argued that Jordan killed her son as he was emotionally disturbed, combined with fruitless efforts to find treatments for his autistic condition. She also testified that he had been traumatized after being sexually abused by his father, Emil Tzekov, the millionaire’s second husband.
Jordan Accused Her First Husband
The millionaire claimed that her first husband was scheming to get rid of her, which would mean Tzekov gaining sole custody of their son. The unremorseful Jordan, during the trial, claimed that Jude asked for his death.
Her Sentence
Jordan was sentenced to 18 years in jail in 2015 by Supreme Court Judge Charles Solomon. There was, however a significant turnaround in her case in 2020, as her manslaughter charges were overturned owing to a procedural misstep.
Another Development
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor issued an order on Thursday, December 29th, 2022, that required Jordan to return to jail. This overturned a previous ruling that allowed her to remain a free woman on bail as the high court considered her appeal.
