It’s always a good idea to check if your salt or pepper shakers have their lids securely fastened. Otherwise, hubris will eventually come for you, as it did for this unfortunate soul.

Lots of people have had their umbrellas turn inside-out on windy days, but here’s an all-new hazard that I didn’t realize was possible.

AAA drivers can generally hold their heads high, knowing that they have the means to fix all manner of highway problems. If they run into trouble, at least they can call AAA.

So the person who wrote this note seems to have gotten away with hitting someone’s car. It’s a total jerk move, and totally illegal, but if they got away with it, they’ve got things figured out.

Brings a tear to your eye.

This guy’s son had a fake ID, and was looking forward to a fun night. Unfortunately for him, the ID was garbage, and now he’s immortalized for all to see — including his dad.

Bamboozled.

A bunch of journalists paid good money to take this lengthy flight in the hopes of getting an exclusive interview with Edward Snowden, who wasn’t actually on the flight.

Engineering fail.

We generally trust that the people in charge of important stuff like building demolitions know exactly what they’re doing. That generally might be the case, but it’s not always the case.

Peek-a-boo!

This guy noted that he was very happy with his $30 (!) winter coat purchase. But when he tried to use the hood, and more importantly, use his eyes, things kind of fell apart.

No.

Dude, that good home was right where you found the baby deer. And, like, you can’t give a deer a good home. They’re not pets.

Nice parking job.

The arrogant driver of this car found a convenient parking spot, disregarding the fact that it was bus-only parking. Eventually, he realized the error of his ways.

Yeast beast.

Some bakers miscalculated their ratios, so they threw a bunch of bread dough into a dumpster. As bakers, they should have realized that dough tends to rise.

Blatant false advertising.

For those who still use Netflix for physical DVDs, renting a movie like Unbreakable should at least ensure that the disc isn’t going to shatter during shipping.

Play with fire, get burnt.

This is a terrible thing to claim if you don’t have the skills. Like, you’re just setting yourself up for an awkward scenario anytime you’re near a piano.

Reap what you sow.

This guy thought he’d pull a cheeky move to leave freedom and matrimony behind by going to prison. Seems like a well-thought-out plan. Unfortunately for him, the judge had other plans.

Time to get back to work.

These workers should look happier after unloading 6,000 bricks into someone’s driveway. The reason they’re not happy is that, while they did unload 6,000 bricks, they did it in the wrong driveway.

The city of psyche-outs.

This guy’s girlfriend understandably got excited when he dropped to one knee during a holiday to the City of Love. After this “hilarious” prank, he’s probably going to have to find a new girlfriend.

You can’t see me.

If you’re so inclined, you can make dad jokes about invisibility whenever you see camo. It’s kind of played out, but whatever. Just don’t make these jokes around overly sensitive swole bros.

You made your choice.

Using the biggest bathroom stall is always a gamble. While there’s more space for activities, you run the risk of this happening. Zero sympathy for this person’s predicament.

Cool new look.

Her hair is nicely bleached, which was the point. Unfortunately, the plastic Walmart bag that was part of the process has left its own distinct mark on her newly brightened hair.

That’s not how it works.

First off, I don’t understand how anyone can be this dumb. Secondly, koalas aren’t exactly cuddly. They’re weird, chlamydia-infected wild animals that will probably bite your fingers off.

Hubris.

If someone tells you, “Whatever you do, don’t step on the [word you don’t understand],” it’s probably best to ask what that word means.

Sorting games are fun.

A worker at this coffee shop randomly poured a bunch of unroasted beans into this container without realizing that said container was full of roasted beans. I hope they like sorting 50,000 coffee beans.

Now it’s cordless.

This guy put on his headphones and his finest hedge-trimming tank top to do some yardwork. But one wayward slice of the trimmers later, his day is ruined.

The trifecta.

In case you’re keeping score at home, the trifecta in this case is 1) Crocs, 2) socks with Crocs and, last but definitely not least, an ankle monitor.

When the laws of physics hate you.

“A storm came through,” wrote the person who will have to clean up this mess. “The plastic furniture barely moved but the grill blew thirty feet into the pool.”

Captain Jerk.

“My coworker told me that everyone dressed up at my office,” this guy writes. “Now I’m the only [jerk] dressed like Captain Kirk amongst khakis and polo shirts.”

Did they massacre a flock of birds?

This person found out the hard way that you can’t just toss a feather-filled pillow into the dryer and expect things to end well.

Her boyfriend let her get into this predicament. I suppose she could just stay in that area for a day or two until the paint fully dries.
