Last week I was cleaning my kitchen sink, and I gasped in horror. One of my sinks had gross stuff popping up. I realized that it was clearly clogged.
I honestly had no idea how to clean it, so I just surface cleaned it (true story). I wish I’ve stumbled upon this easy solution for unclogging sinks that is taking TikTok by storm. Check it out.
Recently, a TikTok user known as @sorryimannie posted a cleaning hack to get your sink unclogged.

It was so easy and quite brilliant that I had to share it with all of you. If it can save you from the nasty stuff I saw last week, then why not?
Okay, let me tell you about it.

It goes like this. First, pour some baking soda into your sink’s drain and then pack more in. I’m already such a fan of baking soda I can’t even tell you. I love the stuff.
Then, this user poured pure white vinegar directly into the drain.

Now’s the time when the magic really happens. You will see the drain start to bubble up. Why? It’s because these two ingredients create a chemical reaction just like during those science experiments in school. See? That’s the key!
Once the bubbling action finishes and all the contents go down the drain, the sink should be unclogged.
What? You must be thinking, “What kind of witchcraft is that?” Ha, ha, I hear you. It’s just the magic of chemistry, that’s all.
Apparently, this is what a lot of professional cleaners do to unclog sinks.

I wish I knew about this hack sooner as it would have saved me from freaking out last week ha, ha! I’m going to try this myself ASAP.
One thing to keep in mind is that it would probably work even better if you pour hot water into the sink.

That’s what a lot of people have commented on when they saw this video. Hot water helps to unclog drains even more.
Some people suggested that you can buy a snake to get out whatever might be clogging your sink.

However, be careful when using those. We bought one of those cheap plastic ones on Amazon, and it broke off inside the drain.
It actually created more problems for us than we originally had.

All the hair and debris started to collect inside of the drain, and it was a nightmare. My fiancé had to open up the drain and fish out the broken snake for our water to start draining again, so just be careful.
So what do you think of this hack?
Do you think it works? Have you tried it before? I want to know whether it was successful for you as a drain unclogging tool or not. I do want to try it myself the next time I have a clogged sink.
