Paris Hilton just dropped the trailer for her upcoming documentary, This Is Paris , and it looks like we’re about to see a side of her that we’ve never seen before.
While fans have rarely seen beyond the surface of The Simple Life star, she has finally decided to open up and reveal a traumatic experience of hers that she still has “nightmares about.”
In case you missed it, Paris Hilton just dropped the trailer for her upcoming documentary, *This Is Paris*.
It is set to be released on Paris’ YouTube channel on Monday, September 14th. Fans will get to see a more authentic side of her that they haven’t seen before.
The documentary by Emmy-winning director Alexandra Dean, is going to “uncover the hidden past of the international icon.”

Paris will supposedly be confronting “the heartbreaking trauma that forged who she is today,” the description reads.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Paris reveals that filming the documentary was “almost therapeutic.”

“It’s things I’ve never talked about before, really personal and traumatic experiences, so to talk about that publicly is obviously very hard .”
She explains that the role she created for herself was an escape, so to speak, from her naturally shy personality.

“Obviously I’m used to be on camera from being on camera for so long,” she told Jimmy.
“But I’ve always been a very naturally shy person, so I loved just inventing this character and playing that character,” she went on.

“To actually be myself was a completely different experience,” she added .
She went on to explain that filming the documentary was really helpful for her, because she felt like she didn’t have to play her usual character.

“But also almost therapeutic in some way, where I learned so much about myself,” she said .
She said that prior to filming the doc, she didn’t quite understand why she is the way she is. But now she has a much better comprehension of who she is.

“I had no idea why I am the way I am, and now I understand myself so much more .”
The trailer starts off with Paris strutting into the room holding her dog.

“I feel like the whole world thinks they know me,” she begins, as past clips of her on the red carpet at various events begin playing.
“Sorry, I’m so used to like, playing a character that it’s like, hard for me to be like, normal,” she says.

“No one really knows who I am. … I don’t even know who I am sometimes,” she continues.
“I didn’t used to be that way,” she continues. “I’m always putting on this facade, or just like, happy, perfect life.”

“Are you happy?,” one of Paris’ sister, Nicky, asks her.
“Sometimes,” she replies hesitantly.
“They say Trauma — the mind may forget. But the body never forgets,” Nicky adds. It’s trapped in you, and it can come out whenever.”

“Something happened to me in my childhood that I’ve never talked about with anyone,” Paris narrates.
Her sister then explains what she remembered about Paris’ childhood trauma.
“I just heard screaming,” Nicky recalls. “Bloody murder.”

“I couldn’t tell you guys,” Paris is heard telling her parents. “Because every time I tried, I’d get punished by them. I still have nightmares about it.”
“The only thing that saved my sanity was thinking about who I wanted to become when I got out of there,” Paris says.

She explained that the persona she has been portraying to her fans all these years has been defining her, despite who she actually is.
“I just created this brand and this persona and this character, and I’ve been stuck with her ever since,” she said.

Thankfully, soon we’re all going to see a deeper, more genuine side of Paris Hilton.
We can’t wait!
