Game of Thrones is no stranger to killing off some amazing fan favorite characters. It often breaks our heart.
But we were surprised to learn that there was one beloved character who was meant to survive the war!

There were a lot of people who died in season 8 of ‘Game of Thrones’.
On its own, that is not very surprising.
What was more surprising was the fact that there was one character in particular that originally lived.
It was not Cersei or Jaime.
While many wanted Jaime to live, not many wanted Cersei to live.
Westeros is better off without her.
It was not Missandei.
As sweet as she was, and as heartbreaking as it was to lose her, she was meant to die the whole time.
It was the nail in Dany’s coffin, in pushing her over the edge.
And finally, it was not even Dany.
Nope, not even the Mother of Dragons made it out of the original script.
However, it was someone close to her.
Writer Dave Hill said that Jorah Mormont was meant to survive.
Jorah has been with Game of Thrones since the beginning.
In episode 3, “The Long Night,” the brave knight’s journey finally came to an end.
Hill actually wanted Ser Jorah to be at The Wall with Jon at the end of the series.
He said , “But the amount of logic we’d have to bend to get Jorah up to The Wall and get him to leave Dany’s side right before [the events in the finale] … there’s no way to do that blithely.”
How would Jorah have felt about Dany’s heel turn?
Glen said , “It’s a blessing for him that he never found out what happened to her.”
Would you have liked to see Jorah live?
Personally, I don’t think Dany would have gone ahead and burned King’s Landing if she had Jorah by her side.
