The elderly tend to get taken for granted. We relegate them to the back burner of society and treat them with blatant disregard. But just because they’re old, doesn’t mean they still can’t teach us a thing or two.
Mainly — about how to properly enjoy life and have fun. Have a look and check out these 15 times that older folks proved we don’t have to be young to know how to have fun .
90-years-young and still number one.
This Grandma has some serious swagger — I bet she absolutely cleans up at the retirement homes. I’m also kind of obsessed with her sunglasses and am curious as to where I might be able to get a pair of my own?
“Did a Christmas scavenger hunt. This is what my grandpa sent for 3 wise men.”
This is a classic grandpa move and I for one am all for it. He also deserves some respect for being able to take the perfect selfie as well as getting the position of the mirrors just right.
The look you make when you finally figure out how to use FaceTime.
Judging from these two, it looks as if grandma hasn’t quite clued in that the call has been connected. Grandpa, on the other hand, looks positively happy as can be.
When you used to be a structural engineer.
I’m not saying that the tower of dairy creamer isn’t impressive (it is) but how on earth was this brilliant old man able to get the peanut butter and maple syrup into a perfect star-shaped pattern?
Not just an old pile of keys.
It took me a moment to realize that what at first looks like just an old pile of keys is in fact a beautiful and intricate piece of artwork. How long did it take you to see the two birds?
Still kicking b**t on the golf course.
“I got to play golf with my grandma for the first time since grandpa passed,” wrote Reddit user SCOTUS17. “It was a good day!”
I can’t remember the last time I was on the golf course, let alone the last time I walked one.
Sure, s*x is fine and all — but when’s the last time you ate a truly impeccable strawberry?
I long to love anything in life as much as this man clearly loves his strawberries. That look of pure joy and satisfaction is unmistakable.
You’re never too old to catch headlice.
Is it just me or does this hunky grandpa look like he just walked off the set of a Dos Equis commercial? He looks like the most interesting man in the world — with headlice.
The circle of life.
What began as a picture of grandpa holding his two grandkids ends with a picture of grandpa, holding his two grandkids — while they, in turn, hold their own children!
This picture has a lot of emotion and a ton of facial hair.
“My grandpa still working to impress my granny after 59 years of marriage.”
Is it just me or does granny look slightly less than impressed with being given a flower? If I was a betting man, I’d say that grandpa had been currently residing in the dog house up until this point.
Angels with filthy souls.
“It’s my great grandmas[sic] 90th birthday,” wrote Redditor various336. “All she wanted was a ride to church on the motorcycle.”
It looks as if grandma still has the soul of a rebel! Those glasses are pretty ad a*s also.
When you’re grandpa was sitting on a billion dollar idea this whole time and nobody had any idea.
The ironic part is that this photo not only contains the world’s first-ever look at what would go on to become the “selfie stick” but it’s more than likely that this picture is also the world’s first selfie!
The self-timer feature is being put to good use.
I am here for the Farmer John look. Not many men can rock a pair of overalls and make it work, but this gentleman is clearly in a league of his own. Watch out Tinder — here he comes!
Roll over, Beethoven.
“I only have my dad’s mom left, but she likes to run, walk her dog, volunteer, play piano , paint, draw, bake, cook, watch basketball, and hang out with her grandchildren 🙂 love her.” – Reddit u/tgc17
When Grandma says she doesn’t want a dog.
Isn’t it always the ones who say that they don’t want a dog who wind up obsessing over it more than any other family member?
Do your grandparents still have a l**t for life? Leave a comment and let us know!
