When it comes to profitable stars in Hollywood, it’s not as easy to figure out as you may think!
Sure, we can assume who the highest paid actor is, or who brings in the big bucks, but when it comes to Return On Investment (ROI) (I know right, am I a mathematician?!) for a studio, the results are totally surprising!
Thankfully, CashNetUSA’s personal finance blog SavingSpot has done all the hard work for us!
Now, all we have to do is read the numbers they so kindly crunched for us!
According to the article, hunk face Ryan Gosling is Hollywood’s most underpaid actor!
Yep, that’s right! The study found that Ryan gets paid an average of $2.2 million per film, and not only does he make that money multiple, he gives the studio a great performance!
The data shows Ryan makes studios $635.65 per every $1 paid to him
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the study found that Adam Sandler is the most overpaid actor in Hollywood.
Adam averages more than $20 million per movie, but those films never really get outstanding reviews, with Sandler averageing a Metacritic score of 38.9.
In addition to that, Adam makes studios $9.80 per every $1 paid to him. Yikes!
Now, for the ladies! According to the study, Jennifer Lawrence has the BEST ROI (Return On Investment) in Hollywood.
With an average film salary of $9.9 million, Jennifer gives outstanding performances that have landed her a Metacritic score of 65.3!
In addition to her acting chops, studios rake in an average of $782.80 per every one $1 they pay her!
When it comes to WORST ROI, the clear winner is one Charlize Theron.
I know, right?!
With an average movie salary of $11.1 million, Charlize only makes the studio $5.96 for every $1 they pay her.
In addition to her 51.5 Metacritic score, the study concluded Charlize is the least profitable star in Hollywood!
