The 29-year-old citizen of Hong Kong was arrested on Tuesday in Shenzhen, China’s mainland, and allegedly handed up to law enforcement at a border crossing. The defendant is accused of putting together a boat to help murder suspect Alex Kwong flee the city.
Ex-Husband’s Involvement
Choi’s ex-husband Kwong, 28, was accused of killing Ms. Choi with his dad Kwong Kau and his brother Anthony Kwong. Police prosecuted them after discovering her remains in a home leased by Kwong Kau in a Hong Kong district near the Chinese border.
Justice Unserved
Jenny Li, the mother of Alex Kwong, Choi’s ex-mother-in-law, is charged with one count of perverting the course of justice. They were all held without bond. They still need to enter pleas, and it doesn’t appear that their counsel has discussed the case with the public. The hearing was put off until May.
