With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic keeping us away from our friends, family, and loved ones, sometimes it’s hard to maintain our sanity. Going so long without seeing people can be really, truly difficult.
When you’re a mom at home with your kids, it can feel as though you are losing your mind.
All moms know that spending that much time indoors with your kids can be really stressful. And, there is absolutely nothing that will make you happier than seeing your girlfriends.

Katherine Kaylor, a mom of three who lives in Minnesota, knows this feeling all too well.
Kaylor was truly missing her group of friends during the current quarantine going on across the country. Under normal circumstances, Kaylor admits that seeing her friends was part of her “regular morning routine.”
As all moms know, seeing your friends and other “mom friends” are what keep that small piece of sanity intact.
Being able to see your friends for coffee, brunch, or even the casual playdate with your kids keeps you going.
Katherine and her friends figured out a way to maintain the government’s mandated “social distancing” and see each other at the same time.
We have to admit, it’s actually brilliant.
She shared her idea on Facebook, taking pictures of the friends meeting up in a local parking lot.
She wrote, “When you’re slowly losing your sanity, you find a time to ditch all the kids, so you can meet in an empty parking lot with your friends.”
The friends met up for coffee and some “catching up.”
“We met at 7am drank coffee, ate breakfast, and chatted (while maintaining social distancing in the safety of our trunks!) it was so needed and so wonderful!”
People online absolutely loved the creativity behind this.
The post was shared over 400,000 times, as other groups of mom friends began tagging each other in the post.
Katherine told Insider that her friends just truly missed each other.
“We were missing that face-to-face interaction to keep us on level ground. Seeing people’s faces in person makes a huge difference, especially when it’s people that you see multiple times a week and rely on for your sanity,” she said .
While the meet looked fun, things changed rather quickly for this group of friends.
Katherine later posted, “This happened during social distancing. And is approved by our mayor.
We are now on shelter in place and this is NOT allowed. Stay home friends.”
The good news is that at least they can still connect and stay in touch through social media and Zoom. How are you keeping up with your friends?
