Decorating and designing our kid’s rooms is one of the many exciting perks of parenthood. Sometimes, parents get to live out their wildest creations through their kids. Many times, kids start to get creative themselves.
However, furniture can be expensive.

If you’ve ever looked at price tags on furniture, even kid’s furniture, it can be pretty pricey. Sometimes, we’re talking about crazy high prices.
No parent wants to spend thousands.

Spending thousands on furniture that your kids may grow out of can be a bit extreme, as eventually they will need “bigger” stuff.
That’s why we love a good DIY project.

DIY projects can be an excellent way to create nice pieces of furniture or projects for less money than retailers.
Recently, one mom shared her brilliant creation for her own daughter.
The mom created an entire vanity for her daughter’s bedroom and it only cost her $10. Can you believe that?
All the mom needed were some baskets and a mirror.

“The baskets and mirror are from Walmart! The baskets came in a 3-pack,” she wrote on her Facebook post.
They’re easy to put together, too.

“Baskets are actually hanging on regular push pin/ tacks. But command hooks would be great, too,” she said.
The baskets have makeup and jewelry.

The mom filled her baskets with some lip gloss and other things like earrings and headbands.
She even put her bows and scrunchies on the wall.

She layered her bows and scrunchies on the wall with hooks and other things. That way, her daughter can reach them easily.
Best of all, her daughter loves it!

Her daughter seems to love it, as I’m sure many little girls would. If you’re looking to make a DIY vanity for your kids, you just need to get some baskets and a mirror! What a great way to encourage pretend play!
