Many people know that working from home is filled with tons of distractions. But, working from home during the pandemic when your entire family is also at home with you — well, that’s just 10 times harder.
Many parents have had to begin working from home while quarantined with their children.
They also have to struggle to ensure their kids are doing their school work and keeping up with “remote learning.”
It can be pretty difficult to be productive and keep tabs on all of your kids and your home.
Parents are doing five jobs at once during this pandemic and let’s just say, it’s really not easy. But, no matter what, we have to find ways to make it work.
One mom has come up with a pretty brilliant hack that allows her to get her work done while her kids are home with her.
Kate VanDusen Danielson posted the hack to her Facebook page and so far it’s won over parents everywhere with over 6,200 shares.
“Please refer to the FAQ’s before you submit a question to the mom working from home.”
The questions include pretty straight forward answers to any questions her kids may (and probably will) ask.
She also has a “status” sheet where it tells her kids whether or not she’s busy.
This is a pretty kid-friendly way to get the message across. I love the color-coded statuses.
All in all, it’s a foolproof system to make sure she gets her time to be productive.
And, it keeps the kids out of her hair—I mean, it’s all right there on the FAQ sheet!
The post gained so much popularity, Danielson was super grateful.
She also made the document public so other working moms can print it out and use it in their own homes during quarantine.
And, after the post went viral, she asked if people would donate to the non-profit that she formed and is running while home.
Her program, called Foster Progress, “empowers Illinois youth currently or formerly in foster care to attain a college degree and transition into adulthood successfully by providing mentorship, advocacy, and educational opportunity.”
What a wonderful mom and a wonderful cause!
We love moms who are always willing to share their ideas and who also give back to the community in a variety of ways.
