There is no denying kids are pegged as picky eaters. We often remember shaking our head incessantly at vegetables on our plate at dinner and refusing to eat anything other than cut up hot dogs with ketchup.
No, we may not have eaten the most balanced meals (and maybe still don’t) and yes, there is a food guide to help make it easier to see, but it doesn’t mean we’re going to follow it.
You remember the food pyramid, right?

It was, and still is, a visual guide developed by the folks over at the USDA to help people make healthy dietary choices.
There have been many iterations and updates since its inception in the early 1900’s, but still, it doesn’t mean people are going to follow it. Grocery store aisles sure don’t make it easy!
That’s why one Chicago-based mom laid out a new and improved pyramid that actually reflects what her kids eat.
If you’re a parent with a picky toddler, or you were yourself, then you’re sure to relate.
“I updated the Food Pyramid to be a more accurate depiction of what my children are willing to eat. #Motherhood,” Kendra Broekhuis captioned the viral Facebook post.

She made the perimeters of the pyramid out of string cheese (a classic) and 5 sticks of butter.
At the bottom is a boatload of Goldfish Crackers, then chicken fingers, ranch and ketchup, and at the top for “fruit,” a Juicy Burst gummy fruit pack.
So many parents could relate to Kendra, commenting on the post @-ing their own children.
Even grown adults could relate, referencing their “college diets.”
Others had some of their own revisions to Kendra’s pyramid.

“Mac and cheese. Chicken Nuggets. Rice. Spam. Eggs. & Soda. I think that’s what our pyramids would consist of LOL,” one person commented .
“According to my daughter, the ranch dressing is supposed to be at the top,” another chimed.
I’m not gonna lie, after seeing Kendra’s food pyramid, I could really go for some chicken tendies and ranch dressing.
