Parents decorate homes, buy trees, and make sure that the home is ready for Santa’s arrival.
For young kids, everything is about Santa coming to town. Parents get giant trees for Santa to put presents under, make cookies for him to eat, and some parents even leave carrots out for reindeer.
If a holiday had a celebrity, Santa would be on the A-list.
Santa is the one person that can do no wrong in the eyes of all young kids — except when he gets the wrong present, of course. Otherwise, every kid wants to go sit on Santa’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas.
Many parents strive to keep their children’s innocence by keeping their belief in Santa alive.
Of course, us adults know that Santa isn’t really a guy who travels around the world in one night. But, the idea that it’s possible is an innocence that all children thrive on. Parents try to keep that idea alive for as long as they can.

However, there are times when parents can’t control how their kids find out the truth.
Whether it’s at school, in a movie, in a TV show, from a friend —when kids find out truth about Santa, parents feel heartbroken. It’s like someone ripped the dreams out of their children before they could help.
One mom recently opened up about how Disney+ completely ruined Santa for her child.
Kylie Matthews wrote an op-ed on KidsSpot stating that a movie on Disney+ ruined the entire Santa-world for her son. And, she ultimately had to explain to her eight-year-old son that Santa isn’t real.
The mother and son were watching the movie ’27 Dresses.’
“At the 10-minute and 44-second mark, Katherine Heigl’s perennial bridesmaid character, Jane Nichols, says to James Marsden’s smarmy journalist character, Kevin ‘Malcolm’ Doyle: ‘That’s so noble of you. Do you also go around telling small children that Santa Claus doesn’t exist?’ ‘Cause someone needs to blow that sh*t wide open,’ she explained in her op-ed.
Her son immediately asked if Santa was or wasn’t real and the mom tried to answer quickly.
“But he remained unconvinced and when I wasn’t quick enough to hide my hesitation, he saw the truth written all over my face.
In that moment, I watched as my boy’s precious heart shattered into a million tiny pieces and eight years of lovingly crafted Christmas magic streamed down his face,” she wrote.
Now, the mom is saying that Disney+ needs to double-check their content before deeming it “kid-friendly.”
“But surely a movie that has a revelation that Santa Claus isn’t real should NOT be available on a ‘family-friendly’ streaming service!
I’m not saying it’s a terrible movie, or that families won’t enjoy watching it together, but I believe Disney+ has a responsibility to provide a better guide for parents on individual films that have the potential to cause our kids distress,” the mom wrote.
