One of the first major Hollywood divorces during the coronavirus pandemic has been announced . Thirty-three-year-old Hollywood icon and cultural legend Mary-Kate Olsen is asking for a divorce from husband of five years, 50-year-old Pierre Olivier Sarkozy, as reported by TMZ.

Mary-Kate is now asking for an emergency court order to speed the process along amidst the pandemic.
TMZ reports that Mary Kate’s attorneys got an email from her husband’s attorneys this week giving her until May 18th to get her stuff out of their NYC apartment.
MK is claiming Pierre is trying to force her out of their home, because he terminated their lease without her knowledge or consent.
The actress tells TMZ she’s been asking Pierre to give her until May 30th to move her things out, but says he hasn’t responded.
She claims she cannot meet the instructions given to her by Pierre’s attorney due to NYC’s current quarantine guidelines.
She claims the only way she can properly protect her property is if she files for a divorce petition.
SO MUCH LEGAL JARGON!
The divorce petition would trigger an automatic court order, thus preventing him from disposing of her property, which would be SO UNCOOL OF HIM!
TMZ reports MK signed a petition for divorce back on April 17th, but was informed NYC courts were not accepting divorce filings, other than emergencies, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Therefore, she is requesting an emergency order to allow her to file the divorce.
Thankfully though, it seems Mary-Kate has an “ironclad” prenup that will protect her assets.
According to Us Weekly , her estimated net worth (shared with her twin sister, Ashley) of $500 million will be safe.
