When Mandy Moore first announced her pregnancy, fans were overjoyed for the 36-year-old actress. Mandy has been such a huge part of our lives through her iconic TV and movie roles, and now, she’s moving into a new and exciting phase of her life.
Now, Mandy is sharing her beautiful birth story with fans.
Mandy gave birth to her first son, August, at the end of February.
“Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined,” she captioned the sweet pic.
Now, Many is letting fans know how her birth experience went!
While chatting on the “Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy” podcast, Mandy explained how taken aback she was by her labor.
While recalling what were *supposed* to be her weekend plans with hubby Taylor Goldsmith, Mandy said:
“We are going to pick up sandwiches from this place, going to have a big last hoorah before the baby arrived.”
It wasn’t until the pair were snuggled up watching *The Office* that Mandy started having contractions.
In regards to her labour pains, Mandy said: “You lose all sense of time.”
In the aftermath of her son’s birth, the actress said she was surrounded by an “oxytocin love bubble” with her husband.
“You are completely smothered in this feeling of I have never felt higher, I have never felt this love. It was like the world stopped again,” she said.

“I’m so glad I had pictures of [my placenta],” Mandy continued. “It was so beautiful.” She also revealed she plans on “eating it”, most likely through capsule form. “I can’t wait to do it again,” Mandy concluded.
