We’re often taught growing up that we should do good things without expecting anything in return, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t nice when we do happen to get a thank you present.
While a gift was likely the last thing on the mind of a man who saved someone from a set of electrified train tracks, someone wanted to commemorate his good deed and gave him one anyway.

A good samaritan was rewarded after saving a man’s life this week.
At an L train station in Chicago, a 20-year-old man named Anthony Perry spotted someone laying unconscious, convulsing on the electrified tracks this past Wednesday. He immediately jumped into action, hopping down and moving the body off the rails.
He then began performing CPR.
He managed to keep the unconscious man stable until emergency services arrived to bring him to a hospital, where he’s expected to survive.
“I was hoping I could just grab him and not feel nothing, but I felt a little shock. I felt it all through my body actually. I didn’t let that stop me,” Perry told Associated Press .
People were amazed by Perry’s bravery.
A video of him moving the man off the tracks went viral (be warned, the video can be a little disturbing to some), catching the attention of Early Walker, founder of the anti-violence organization I’m Telling, Don’t Shoot. To thank Perry for saving the man’s life, Walker gifted him a 2009 Audi A8 and a $25 gas card.
“We need more Anthonys in the world,” Walker said.
Perry’s commute to work used to take two buses and a train, but thanks to the gifted car, he said his life will be “way easier”.
District Commander of the Chicago police department Roderick Watson also thanked Perry, telling the Chicago Sun-Times , “This is what we need more of. Police can’t be everywhere at all times. We have a citizen who actually took charge, jumped in, and should be recognized.”
Perry is an incredible example of a selfless man.
As Chicago police Lt. Yolanda Irving said, “So many times people think these young men are out here doing the wrong thing, but this is just a prime example of how a young man took it upon himself to jump in and do the right thing.”
