Summertime means lake time, and that means spending as much as we can on boats, maybe tubing or wakeboarding, whatever your style is.
But, why buy an expensive motorized boat when you can just DIY one yourself? That is, if you have the skills like this Reddit user to do so.
Reddit user lifeisgood_dude gave this inflatable five-person fishing boat a major flip.

After selling his aluminum fishing boat, he was still in the market for a cheap and durable fishing boat to get out on the water. So this was his compromise.
He first used cardboard and plywood to stabilize the bottom of the boat.

Then, he covered the plywood with indoor/outdoor carpet to give it a more comfortable and cozy feel.
He then constructed seat boxes. The rear would hold the battery, life jackets, anchor, and other important gear for a smooth boat ride.

No boat is complete without some bumping tunes! He also made sure to install speakers and a stereo in the other seat box.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a motorized boat without, well, a motor. So, he also installed a 55lb motor to give it some decent power.
And with all that, here’s his finished product!

It took him 20 minutes to set up and get it out on the water, but him and his fishing partner had no problem being able to stand with exceptional stability.
