Coronavirus, like SARS and the bird flu before it, is a nasty virus that has the entire world freaked out. What if there was an easy cure? According to this guy, there totally is.
Wuhan, China is the epicenter.

More than two hundred cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed in the central city of Wuhan. From there, international flights have carried the virus around the world.
Where did it come from?
It’s usually impossible to identify a “patient zero” of an outbreak, but in the case of coronavirus, it’s likely that the virus comes from bats as it shares similar traits to a virus that can be found in the creatures.
This guy says he came down with the virus.

Connor Reed, a 25-year-old Welsh teacher, has been living in Wuhan for the past three years. About two months ago, he says , doctors diagnosed him with coronavirus.
He may be the first from the U.K. to contract the virus.

Given his location in Wuhan, along with the fact that he says he was diagnosed two months ago, he’s probably among the first Westerners to come down with coronavirus.
He couldn’t believe it.

“I was stunned when the doctors told me I was suffering from the virus, he told The Sun . “I thought I was going to die but I managed to beat it.”
He beat it, just like that?

Reed made the curious choice of avoiding the antibiotics prescribed to him, saying, “I didn’t want to take any medicines.” He did use an inhaler, which helped control his coughing fits.
He says it all came down to hot toddies.

Refusing medication in the midst of a massive outbreak isn’t a smart move, but Reed says he pulled through with a decidedly old-timey remedy: hot whiskey and honey.
Seriously?
We can’t verify the story, but he says he, “drank a hot whiskey with honey until that ran out. It’s an old fashioned remedy but it seemed to do the trick.”
Good for him, I guess.

If his story is to be believed, Reed managed to contract a serious illness, refuse medication, and cure the whole thing by drinking some hot toddies. Like, I’m glad he’s feeling better, but it’s hard not to have some questions.
It’ll take more than hot toddies to beat this.

There are conflicting reports, including some that say coronavirus is on the way out. What can’t be denied, though, is the toll coronavirus has already taken : more than 360 confirmed deaths and more than 17,000 confirmed cases worldwide.
Reed is still in Wuhan.

It might seem like he’s tempting fate, given his recent diagnosis and his proximity to the epicenter of the outbreak. But hey, maybe the hot toddies helped build up his immunity.
What do you think?

It’s important to not sensationalize these stories and create an undue sense of fear. On the other hand, it’s not like these things can just be ignored. Let us know what you think in the comments!
