Anyone who watched the first Disney remake of The Lion King won’t be surprised that the production company is gearing up for a PART TWO!
According to Deadline the sequel is underway and it is set to be directed by Oscar winning Moonlight and If Beatle Street Could Talk director Barry Jenkins.

Of course, the follow-up film will use the same photo-realistic technology used in the first.
While there’s no set release date, it’s so exciting to know the wheels are in motion!
According to Deadline “the story will further explore the mythology of the characters, including Mufasa’s origin story.”
