Well, then this new Lego initiative is for you. Lego’s new project, “Lego-Tsugi,” plays on the Japanese practice of kintsugi — with a Lego twist, of course. Let’s check it out!

What is kintsugi?
It’s a traditional Japanese art form for repairing broken pottery. In practice, it involves re-joining the broken pieces with lacquer dusted with powdered gold, silver, or platinum.
As a philosophy, it embraces imperfect things while acknowledging the beauty of repair and wear.
So, what’s Lego got to do with it?
Well, they introduced a Lego version of kintsugi with their new Lego-sugi collection, part of the #RebuildYourWorld campaign. It’s all about using your existing stuff to make new, fun things to enjoy!
The goal is to get you to think differently about things you’d consider broken.
Rather than throwing something out, Lego wants you to consider the art your stuff could become! Using their bricks, you can create a new home inside a broken planter!
They definitely showed off some of the more traditional uses of kintsugi.
This mug was given a new lease on life with some strategically placed Legos! Oh, and some glue, of course. We can’t have it falling apart again, can we?
One idea even involved rebuilding a lamp!
Take an Ikea lamp that’s seen better days and turn it into something new and fun! This kind of project would be perfect for a kid’s room.

This one was put back together with Lego, and now it’s the perfect place to keep jewelry! This is such a great way for you to reuse your things, or to teach kids about sustainability!
Why not make plants fun?
