With Kim Kardashian’s fourth baby on the way, it’s only fitting that she threw a giant, extravagant baby shower — just like she’s done for her other three children before they were born.
But the theme of this bash had fans slightly confused.

The theme of her baby shower this time was CBD.
For those of you that don’t know, CBD, AKA Cannabidiol is a common non-intoxicating compound produced by cannabis plants, with a wide range of medical and therapeutic properties.
But just to be clear, CBD is not marijuana, pot, or weed.
It doesn’t get anybody intoxicated or “stoned”. It contains no THC, which is the particular component that makes marijuana illegal.
CBD oil can be found in certain products to harness its relaxing properties.
Kim has described the lead-up to her fourth child as being pretty stressful.
She said in an interview with E! that she has been “freaking the [expletive] out”.
“This year, because I am freaking out so much, I just want a zen-like CBD-themed baby shower,” Kim said.
“This is the massages for all, like just meditation, calm before the storm baby shower.”
On Saturday, Kim took to Instagram to thank everyone that celebrated the upcoming birth of her child at her CBD-themed shower.
“Yesterday I had my CBD baby shower! thank you to everyone who celebrated baby #4 with us! It was perfect!,” she wrote.
She then posted all the different CBD themed activities that she incorporated into her shower.
She went all out , as per usual.
Guests could make their own CBD products, like salt scrubs and body oil, and flower arrangements. They could also get massages and participate in a group sound bath.
The guest list was star studded, of course.
Chrissy Teigen, Paris Hilton, Maria Menounos, and Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner — to name a few.
The whole thing looked amazing .
Many fans were shocked and confused by the theme of this baby shower.
It was definitely a creative one — potentially the very first of its kind.
This fan tweeted that they have a ton of questions.
Some fans thought that a CBD-themed shower for her new baby was the wrong approach.
This person tweeted that Kim’s shower was sickening and contributing to the “doping” of America — the reason why everyone is such a mess.
This fan sarcastically wrote on Twitter that CBD doesn’t exactly scream “new baby”.
And maybe so — but it channeled the relaxing vibes that Kim was aiming for.
This person pointed out that Kim Kardashian having a CBD themed baby shower is a big indicator that times are changing.
Things like CBD baby showers are becoming more socially acceptable.
Other people think that Kim could be putting her money towards better things.
This person vented on Twitter that instead of having a fourth baby shower — CBD-themed to help with the stress she says she’s under, Kim could have done something a little nobler.

A CBD-themed baby shower is definitely far from the status-quo — so understandably, it’s throwing people off.

Folks were definitely having a hard time seeing the correlation between celebrating new life and CBD.
