Breakups are never easy — especially when you’re a celebrity! I can’t imagine the stress of 1) going through a public divorce and 2) having the whole world talking about it!
Now it is being reported that Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is demanding over $400,000 a month for spousal support.

Fans were devastated when news of Kelly’s split from hubby Brandon Blackstock went public this past June.
The pair tied the knot back in 2013 and have two children together — 6-year-old River Rose and 4-year-old Remington Alexander.
It has since been reported that Kelly cited the reason for the split as “irreconcilable differences.”
Unfortunately for Kelly, the divorce has been turbulent since the start.
As fans may recall, the American Idol winner was being sued by her former father-in-law’s company back in September.
It was reported that Kelly was being sued for $1.4 million in unpaid commissions by Starstruck Management Group.
Starstruck Management Group, which has been Kelly’s representation for the past 13 years, is run by Narvel Blackstock, the father of Kelly’s ex-husband.
Naturally, this all got very messy, very quickly.

The complaint claims that Kelly has not paid the full commission for her work on *The Voice* and *The Kelly Clarkson Show.*
“Over the course of approximately 13 years, Starstruck developed Clarkson into a mega superstar,” the complaint reads.
“By way of example only, Starstruck was instrumental in helping Clarkson achieve success in terms of numerous hit albums, multiple Grammy wins and nominations, her role on popular television shows like ‘The Voice’ and her own talk show,” it states.
“Despite Starstruck’s hard work and dedication, Clarkson has decided she is going to stop paying Starstruck for what is contractually owed.”
Startstruck alleges that Kelly will owe an additional $5.4 million by the end of the year on top of what she has already paid and what she allegedly owes.
While this lawsuit is ongoing, Kelly has been hit with another legal bombshell.
This time, it’s directly from her ex-husband.
A source close to Kelly has told People that Brandon is asking for a whopping $436,000 A MONTH in spousal and child support.

“Brandon’s been equally unreasonable in his requests for child and spousal support, as well as attorney fees,” the source tells the publication.
“Kelly’s offered to pay for all the kids’ expenses, but Brandon seems to think he is entitled to and needs $301K in spousal support and $135K in child support per month.”
The source added, “Additionally, he’s already asked for $2M for attorney fees when he’s the one driving up the cost of the divorce with seven attorneys just representing him alone.”
“As Kelly has said, her first priority in all of this is to take care of the kids and all the hearts that are involved in this divorce,” a second source tells People .
“It’s been a hard time for everyone, but Kelly’s pleased with the court’s ruling regarding custody.”
They concluded: “Divorce is hard and it gets tense for most couples going through it. But Kelly’s primary focus is on doing the best she can to protect the kids. In this case, she had to fight for them since Brandon and his attorneys were making unreasonable requests.”
