Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is known for having amazing style. She’s also known for her philanthropic efforts, being an awesome mom, and THE FUTURE QUEEN OF ENGLAND, but for now, we’re talking about her STYLE, sweeties.
So when Kate’s Remembrance Day outfit sparked controversy on social media, I had to put my detective cap on.
Kate Middleton is known for always having the perfect outfit. Since her marriage to Prince William, fans have been dying to see what she will wear to every major event.
It’s no wonder the clothes Kate wears always sell out — THE FANS CAN’T GET ENOUGH!
Something Kate *isn’t* known for is controversial fashion choices.

I mean, it’s Kate Middleton for goodness’ sake — she has all eyes on her all the time!
However, it seems the Royal Remembrance Sunday Service was a source of drama for multiple reasons.

For starters, the family faced backlash for not having a wreath placed on behalf of Prince Harry, who served in the Army for 10 years.
According to People , Harry had requested a wreath of poppies be laid at the national memorial in his honor.
*People* claims that palace officials decided that Harry would not have his wreath added because he and wife Meghan Markle are no longer working members of the institution.

The publication reports that Harry was “saddened and disappointed” that his family did not honor his wishes.
A source told *People* that Harry “understands that he doesn’t have the same formal role in the family as he used to. But he was saddened and disappointed by the decision.”

In response to the diss, Harry and Meghan had their own private service in California, paying tribute at the gravesites of two fallen soldiers who fought for Commonwealth armed forces — one who had served in the Royal Australian Air Force, and one from the Royal Canadian Artillery.
The pair used flowers picked from their own garden.
However, the controversy didn’t stop there. Check out this ~gorgeous~ coat worn by the Duchess of Cambridge at the Sunday Service:

The bespoke Catherine Walker coat is truly so chic! The tassels! The hat! It’s all so fashionable!
Instead of what should have been respectful comments about those who have dedicated their lives to serving their country, a debate sparked on Twitter about Kate’s Remembrance Sunday coat.
“Catherine’s coat is far too overdone, tasselled [*sic*] shoulders, all those buttons, high military neck. Just doesn’t suit her and looks like a costume rather than respect,” wrote @BinaSkywalker.
“Totally agree. Far too militaristic for someone who has barely worked a day in her life,” echoed @MrsRuthyBrady .
Others began questioning how much the designer coat cost, which according to my Google search would be *at least* a couple thousand dollars.

“Wouldn’t the money for that have been better used to house homeless veterans and she stay home,” asked @louiseleelee.
However, many royal fans on Twitter began defending the duchess.

“Her coat is very beautiful. Suits the occasion but each to their own. Time to be nice about these guys. We are all copping it tough and should say good things or keep quiet,” replied @HeatherAMASTS
“Seriously, is the dress what this ceremony is about?” agreed @julierebelp.
Others were more neutral about the coat — “I hate the fringed epaulets but otherwise love it!” wrote @vshaffer257.
However, it’s safe to say many fans were obsessed with Kate’s chic look.
“Look at the duchess oh my God so fierce!!!” gushed @pinnockcrf.
It seems most people were obsessed with the coat and thought there was nothing wrong with it!
I think the coat is trendy and fashionable, and not intentionally offensive at all!
