In a year marked with profound weirdness, why shouldn’t there be another layer of oddity stacked on top of all the rest? And why shouldn’t it involve aliens?
After all, interest in bug-eyed invaders has been on the rise since the U.S. Navy declassified a series of videos of encounters their pilots have had with UFOs. And the big Area 51 craze of 2019 sure didn’t hurt interest either.
Now, new claims about alien life have hit the headlines, largely because they come form a source who *should* know what he’s talking about.
Haim Eshed isn’t someone you’d imagine making wild claims about extraterrestrial life. He’s a retired Israeli general and current professor, and he headed up that nation’s space security agency for 30 years.
And yet, the 87-year-old, three-time recipient of the Israel Security Award is on the record as saying that not only does intelligent alien life exist, but that humans have secretly been in contact with them for years.
And yes, he’s clear that he’s talking about aliens from outer space, not illegal aliens.
As The Jerusalem Post reported, Eshem told Tel Aviv-based newspaper Yediot Aharonot that Israel and the U.S. have both had extensive dealing with the alien “Galactic Federation.”
Eshed also claimed that President Trump was about to reveal the existence of the Galactic Federation, but the aliens stopped him from doing so to prevent mass hysteria, saying humanity needed more time to “evolve and reach a stage where we will… understand what space and spaceships are.”
It hasn’t gone unnoticed that President Trump established the U.S. Space Force, the new branch of the Armed Forces dedicated to protecting U.S. assets in orbit as well as space as a military domain.
“Space is going to be the future, both in terms of defense and offense … we’re now the leader on space,” President Trump said at the May ceremony officially establishing the Space Force, NBC News reported.
Eshed also said that the aliens and humans have made several agreements.
Among them, he claims there’s an information sharing agreement, as humans wish to know about the “fabric of the universe,” and the aliens want to know more about humanity.
“There is an agreement between the U.S. government and the aliens. They signed a contract with us to do experiments here,” Eshed said, according to NBC News .
There’s also supposedly a base deep inside Mars where a contingent of human astronauts and alien representatives are co-existing.
So why are we learning about this now?
Eshed said that the timing was right largely because of his current station as a professor, where he feels he finally has the respect and the freedom to say such things.
“If I had come up with what I’m saying today five years ago, I would have been hospitalized,” he said, according to The Jerusalem Post . “Today, they’re already talking differently. I have nothing to lose. I’ve received my degrees and awards; I am respected in universities abroad, where the trend is also changing.”
Needless to say, Eshed’s claims have become quite popular online.
Twitter users have quickly adopted the “Galactic Federation” for a wide variety of memes.
While we might never see any proof to back up Eshed’s many claims — more of which can be found in his new book, The Universe Beyond the Horizon – conversations with Professor Haim Eshed — we can at least have some fun with it all, because hey, why not.
