Many of us are lucky enough not to need to give woodpeckers much thought. If we see one in the wild, we might just find it kind of interesting as it pecks away at a tree.
At worst, one might annoy us by doing it too close to our windows while we try to spend a Saturday morning sleeping in.
However, one California man has a very good reason to dread the birds, which he lays out in the full video.
Mark Von Thaden’s day started out simply enough. He was just remodeling his pool house.

Yet, as he started to change the siding in one of the rooms, he found himself coming to a strange epiphany: He hates woodpeckers.
Of course, the reason behind this attitude becomes a lot clearer as he pans his camera around.

You might have noticed that the walls in this room are letting a lot more light in than walls are normally supposed to.
That wasn’t be design.
Indeed, the woodpeckers apparently went to town on these walls and filled it with surprisingly big holes.

However, their talent for turning perfectly good wooden walls into some odd monument to Swiss cheese isn’t the only reason Mark swears he now hates woodpeckers.
The woodpeckers hadn’t just poked the holes they did to be mean. It turned out they had special plans for Mark’s pool house.

At least, that’s what Mark discovered when he pulled the insulation off. It’s hard to tell just by looking at it, but those woodpeckers apparently filled the walls with acorns.
Just to demonstrate how completely the woodpeckers had taken over his space, Mark showed off one of the insulation panels that he hadn’t touched yet.

The house was already filled with more acorns than anybody could possibly use, so they couldn’t have filled all of the panels with them, right?
Well, it doesn’t take long before we find out exactly what’s in store for us.

Showing that the is far from the only time he’s done this today, Mark quickly tears open the covering and pulls out the insulation.
Immediately after he does this, a whole new stash of acorns start pouring out onto the floor.

So yes, it’s apparently safe to assume that each remaining panel has a wealth of some woodpecker’s winter savings just barely contained behind it.
This left the floor even more covered with acorns than it was when he started filming.

Here is the video in its entirety.
Once you take a look at the full video here, there shouldn’t be any further doubts about Mark’s newfound hatred for woodpeckers.
