Hollywood was rocked last week after the tragic death of Halyna Hutchins after Alec Baldwin’s prop gun misfired on the set of the film Rust . The actor pulled the trigger after reportedly being told the gun was “cold.”
Now, Alec’s wife is speaking out about the accident and is sending love to Halyna’s family, and her own husband, as they navigate this unprecidented tragedy.

it was reported last week that Halyna Hutchins had died after being shot by Alec Baldwin, who fired the prop gun on the set of his new movie “Rust.”
Halyna, director of photography, was flown to the hospital but later succumb to her injuries.
On Friday, Alec released a statement on Twitter.
“There are no words to convey my shock and sadness regarding the tragic accident that took the life of Halyna Hutchins, a wife, mother and deeply admired colleague of ours,” he wrote.
“I’m fully cooperating with the police investigation to address how this tragedy occurred and I am in touch with her husband, offering my support to him and his family.”
“My heart is broken for her husband, their son, and all who knew and loved Halyna,” he added.
In the days following the tragedy, friends and fans of Halyna have been speaking out on social media.
John Lindley and Rebecca Rhine released a statement on behalf of The International Cinematographer’s Guild.
“We received the devastating news this evening, that one of our members, Halyna Hutchins, the Director of Photography on a production called Rust in New Mexico died from injuries sustained on the set,” the statement read, as per Variety .
“The details are unclear at this moment, but we are working to learn more, and we support a full investigation into this tragic event,”
“This is a terrible loss, and we mourn the passing of a member of our Guild’s family.”
“Variety” also published a statement from ‘Rust’ Movie Productions LLC.
“The entire cast and crew has been absolutely devastated by today’s tragedy, and we send our deepest condolences to Halyna’s family and loved ones,” the statement began.
“We have halted production on the film for an undetermined period of time and are fully cooperating with the Santa Fe Police Department’s investigation.”
That same day, Halyna’s husband Matthew Hutchins spoke with Business Insider about the unimaginable loss.
“I don’t think there are words to communicate the situation,” the 38-year-old told the publication.
“I am not going to be able to comment about the facts or the process of what we’re going through right now, but I appreciate that everyone has been very sympathetic.”
He continued “I think that we will need a little bit of time before we can really encapsulate her life in a way that is easy to communicate.”
Now, Alec’s wife Hilaris is sending her love to Halyna’s family, and her husband, in her first post about the tragic accident.
“My heart is with Halyna. Her husband. Her son. Their family and loved ones. And my Alec,” she wrote.
“It’s said, ‘There are no words’ because it’s impossible to express the shock and heartache of such a tragic accident. Heartbreak. Loss. Support.”
The comments section quickly filled with love and support for the mother, and for Halyna.
