Ahhh, good. I love slipping back into the safe, comfortable onesie that is Game of Thrones articles.
Honestly, I was worried I wouldn’t be good at writing anything else. But, luckily, I was wrong.
I’m bad at writing everything.
It’s all over.

Well, not for people on Reddit, but for the rest of us Game Of Thrones is officially over.
Take a moment, listen to some Sarah McLaughlin, and let’s all move on… except you Reddit.
It may be over for us…

But Reddit has some big plans for Comic-Con, and all I gotta say is David Benioff andD.B. Weiss, you might have a couple of boos coming your way.
So what did we learn?

Well, we learned a whole lot about living. We learned a little bit about love, too. We learned that sleeping with your family members will lead to death and not to mess with anyone named Stark.
Unless it’s Ned, Robb, Rickon or Catelyn.
But most importantly…

We learned to never, ever make another series in the Game Of Thrones universe again.
The fanbase is too demanding and no matter what there’s a good chance they’re going to be pissed off.
Lol, just kidding.

There’s apparently a prequel to the Game Of Thrones series coming out. So all in all, we learned nothing.
Except for maybe all that Chattahoochee stuff, but that was from the show itself.
So yeah, a prequel.

And it’s my job today to inform you of what to expect going into this baby.
First off, if you’re from r/freefolk, I’d say to expect to be disappointed. But what else is new, am I right?
We know when it’s set…

Excuse me for sounding like the Cybernetic Ghost Of Christmas Past here (one person reading this got that) but the show will be set thousands of years ago, or at least before the Game Of Thrones story happens.
There will be direwolves.

Which is good and bad.
It’s good because we get to see big doggies again. I like the big doggies.
It’s bad because we might have to watch them die again. I don’t like that.
George R. R. Martin revealed…

That the show wouldn’t have seven kingdoms anymore. I know, a real shocker.
I know what you’re thinking: “BuT hOw WiLl ThErE bE cOnFlIcT wItHoUt ThE SeVeN KiNgDoMs?”
Well, hold on to your butt, kiddo…
Because…

There will apparently be hundreds of squabbling, “petty” kingdoms. Jeez! How are they going to keep track of them all!
They’ll definitely need at least one Wikipedia page. We need internet in Westeros, stat!
And of these families…

Will there be any that we recognize?
Maybe we’ll get to see my girl Margaery Tyrell’s family kicking around (please bring back Natalie Dormer, please bring back Natalie Dormer).
It seems I’m not so lucky.

No, just the Starks have been confirmed so far.
Ahh, of course, the freaking practical protagonist family (aka the worst family, debate me I dare you) from the original series has to come back.
We’ll see some spooky creatures, too.

For starters, Mr. Martin has confirmed that you’ll “obviously” see some White Walkers kicking around. Which will be great, considering they got a terrible ending in the first series.
No! Bad Jake! Lay off D&D!
Also…

We might see Lannisters eventually because apparently, the Casterlys will be there. And anyone who knows GoT lore knows that the Casterlys were pushed from their kingdom by one “Lann The Clever”.
You’ll never guess what Lann named his House.
What do you think?

What do you think should be in the Game Of Thrones prequel?
You can write about it here, or heck, maybe go to Comic-Con and yell at the creators. You’ll be a small voice among many.
