According to People , Hayden Panettiere is reportedly back together with her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, after a domestic violence case against him was dismissed.
As reported by People, Hayden Panettiere is back together with her ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson.
The pair reunited after the domestic violence case against Brian was dropped due to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office being unable to “secure a material witness”.
Hayden and Brian started dating in 2018, shortly after she had reportedly split from her then-fiancé, Wladimir Klitschko.
Wladimir and Hayden share a four-year-old daughter, Kaya, who lives with her father in Ukraine.
“Their daughter seems better with her dad and his family now,” a source told People. “But Hayden has not abandoned Kaya. She loves her very much.”
Hayden continued to date Brian, until things went awry.
Back in May, Brian was arrested on a domestic abuse charge and was subsequently released on a $50,000 bond.
TMZ reported that he had allegedly gotten into a physical altercation with Hayden, forcing legal action to be taken.
“Brian has been a bad influence from the beginning,” a source told People in December, before the altercation.
“Hayden’s friends and family are not happy with the relationship .”
Brian fired back by releasing a statement to Access:
“Hayden is happy and healthy and so is our relationship,” he said . “That is all I will comment on so please respect my privacy.”
After Brian was released on bail, People obtained the official felony complaint, alleging that Brian “willfully inflicted corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition upon Hayden P.”
He was charged with one count of felony domestic violence and pleaded not guilty .
In July Brian appeared in court, as he and the judge listened to the testimony made by the police officer who first responded to the domestic violence call.
The judge declined the motion to dismiss criminal charges against Brian and to consider a lesser charge .
“She has to get over this guy,” a source said.
“Her friends and family have been worried about her for quite a while, and things seem to have gotten worse .”
“She needs to do some soul-searching… It’s a sad situation,” they added.
“It has been tough on Hayden, but she has to continue making changes in her life, as well as focus on better decisions “.
If convicted, he was looking at facing up to four years in prison.
But two months later, his case was dismissed.
“The case against Brian Hickerson was dismissed without prejudice today,” a representative from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told People .
They explained that they no longer had a witness to testify.
“Our office was unable to proceed because we could not secure a material witness. The protective order also was dismissed.”
Two months later, on November 5th, Hayden was photographed with Brian, walking through an airport together.
A source revealed that Hayden’s family still does not approve of their relationship.
Hayden’s “family members still don’t approve of the relationship,” the source told People. “They are not fans of Brian.”
“It’s clear that he has issues of his own, not to mention the anger issues, which is obviously a big one.”
Her attorney, Andrew Brettler, also commented in response to the dismissal of the charges against Brian.
“Hayden is a strong, intelligent woman who is capable of making her own decisions,” he said.
