Guy Fieri has become a pop culture icon in his own right. These days, the 52-year-old is best known for being a staple on The Food Network and a philanthropic king!
However, some people still view the culinary king as a meme, or as a JOKE. Guess what, sweeties — he’s not a joke. He is FAR from it!
What if I told you Guy has helped more unemployed Americans than CONGRESS? OH YEAH, BABY! IT’S OUT OF BOUNDS!
Guy Fieri is best known for being one of the most successful chefs and TV presenters to come out of the Food Network.
Can you imagine a world without Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives ?! Or Guy’s Grocery Games ?! Don’t even get me started on my deep love affair with Guy’s Ranch Kitchen .
It’s also easy to be jealous of Guy. His job is to literally travel across the country and eat the best food around!
Sorry, where was that program in college? I would love to be a professional food taster who gets to yell at a camera while speeding down the highway in my 1967 red Camaro every day.
And hey, even if you don’t like any of the shows I just listed, you can at least appreciate what an awesome GUY (hehe) GUY IS!
As you may have heard, the spikey-haired king has been one of the most prominent celebrities to give back during the devastation of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While speaking with TMZ this past summer, the *Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives* host revealed he had no problem reaching out to some major corporations involved in hospitality and food services for donations!
Truly KING behavior!
Guy said that when the pandemic hit, he began thinking about his “brothers and sisters in the restaurant business.”
In partnership with the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, the chef launched the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund.
He explained that he sent personal video invitations to all heavy hitter brand CEOs (Coke, Pepsi, UberEats, etc.) and asked for donations.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Guy has raised over $21 million for out-of-work restaurant employees.
THAT IS LITERALLY MORE THAN CONGRESS HAS DONE IN EIGHT MONTHS, NBD!
This realization did not go unnoticed on Twitter.
“Guy has my respect, Congress does not!” tweeted @Dee013Dee .
“Too bad Flavortown doesn’t have congressional representation,” agreed @garrettnolan
People couldn’t help but point out how absolutely insane this all is!
“When a Chef does more for Americans than America’s government… You know your government is [expletive] and needs replacement!! agreed another user .
He is so much more than a chef, he is literally a philanthropic KING!
In addition to donating money, Guy has also donated his time, making thousands of meals for frontline workers this past summer. Again, this is more hands-on work for frontline workers than we’ve seen from Congress.
He’s also set to launch his delivery-only restaurant, Guy Fieri’s Flavortown Kitchen, in 200 cities around the country. SOUNDS YUMMY TO ME!
If that wasn’t enough to make your heart sing with praise for our favorite bleach blond, Guy will premiere a new documentary on Food Network called *Restaurant Hustle 2020*, which showcases the troubles restaurants have had to face this year.
The documentary will air on The Food Network December 27!
So the next time you want to put your sunglasses on the back of your head to MOCK this legend, think about what a REALLY AWESOME PERSON HE IS!
Cheers to you, Guy! King of Flavortown, and KING OF OUR HEARTS!
