A customer’s kind gesture towards a hardworking 7-Eleven employee has gone viral in a big way.
TikToker Demi Lee, who you can find @demilee64 , popped into her local 7-Eleven, where she found that the cashier had been working a long shift.
The way the story unfolds is downright heartwarming.
Cashiers often work long hours.

Stores like 7-Eleven are generally open 24 hours a day. Employees have to deal with unruly customers, unexpected circumstances, low pay and, of course, extremely long hours.
Demi found that the employee at a Las Vegas-area 7-Eleven didn’t have much time to eat during his 16-hour shift.
Demi told him she’d bring him some dinner.

The video starts off by showing the feast that Demi’s cooking up. The caption points out that the employee probably wasn’t expecting too much, but Demi made sure to pull out all the stops.
Dinner looked downright delicious.

The employee might only have been expecting one rib, but Demi did him quite a bit better: in addition to a half rack of ribs, she also cooked up some beans and a big helping of macaroni and cheese.
She returned to the store with dinner in hand.

Because we all love suspense, the video then moves to a view from Demi’s car as it slowly approaches the 7-Eleven. Demi then parks, gets out, grabs the food and then walks toward the entrance.
The 7-Eleven employee absolutely could not believe it.

He brings his hands to his face, gasps, and says, “Oh my god!”
In response, Demi says, “I told you I was coming back!” She then passes the food into his outstretched arms.
He dug right in.

He was clearly hungry during his shift, because he lowered his mask and started eating as soon as Demi encouraged him to.
“Oh damn, this looks good as [expletive]” he says as he unpacks the food and eats the ribs.
“Now look in the other plate!”

Demi tells him to check out the mac and cheese, which he does. He then gathers all the food up, makes a grateful prayer gesture towards Demi, and appears to head to the back of the store to enjoy his meal.
He definitely enjoyed it.

Commenters on Demi’s video empathized with employees who have to work long hours, often with insufficient breaks for food.
Think of what a 7-Eleven employee must see during a 16-hour shift. It can’t be pretty, particularly late at night.
The employee told Demi, “You made my day.”

When you’re working hard and you’re hungry, any food at all feels like a blessing. Receiving a home-cooked meal of mac and cheese with ribs when you least expect it, though? That’s special.
