Long distance relationships are hard. That’s why TikTok user Jillian Lavin decided to skip the whole concept entirely and pack up her life to follow her boyfriend from LA to Texas…where she was promptly dumped.

In the surprisingly catchy song (seriously, it’s low-key a bop), Jillian begins her tale: Once upon a time, she was in a happy, loving relationship with her boyfriend while living in sunny Los Angeles.

One day, her boyfriend comes to her with an idea
He decided that he wanted to move to Texas to be closer to her dad. Since they were in love (obviously) and in a long-term, stable relationship that he wanted to continue, Jillian decided she would pack up her life and move to Texas with him.
She said goodbye to everything she loved
She gave up half of her career that she loved and had to say goodbye to her improv troupe, who threw her a going away party. Because they are angels, I’m pretty sure. I’m just saying, no man is worth leaving your improv troupe for, queen!
Oh, but it gets worse!
Not only did she have to leave her life behind, she covered their expenses to do so. Yup, she took a month off from work and spent her savings paying for movers to take their stuff to Texas. This woman is a saint.
And off they went to Texas
They packed up their car and drove the excruciatingly long drive (seriously, that’s a minimum 20 hour drive) to good ‘ol Texas. It was all going to be worth it, though, because her boyfriend told her he wanted to spend his life with her.
So she waited a month for their belongings to arrive so that she could begin unpacking and decorating their new home.
She paid for so many things
Not only did she pay for the movers (which is an absolutely gigantic expense, let me tell you), she also unpacked the entire house, bought a new couch for them, and basically ran the house while he went on vacation with his family (which she was not invited to!).
He came back from vacation with some news
Jillian was busy building furniture when her boyfriend returned from his vacation.
He sat on the newly purchased couch and handed her a note stating that they had nothing in common and were incompatible.
She was devastated
Shocked and having literally no idea what he was talking about, Jillian found herself unceremoniously dumped after uprooting her entire life and moving to Texas.
She was so distraught her now-ex had to load up her car for her. Bro, that is the LEAST you could have done.
She moved in with her mom in Florida
It’s so clear the boyfriend basically used her as a free moving service — at least, in my opinion. That man is an absolute jerk for treating her like that. But hey, at least her song went viral! So that’s…something.
