Grandparents are so important to all of us. Whether it’s them helping take care of us when we were first born, always being there to sneak us a little extra dessert, cash, or candy when we need it, or just being there to impart their many years of wisdom onto us, for many of us, our grandparents have had an unimaginable impact on our lives.
While sometimes it can be a struggle to find a way to communicate to our grandparents exactly how much of an impact they’ve had on us, one TikTok user did exactly that.

In an emotional video, TikTok user Lakyn Bowman paid tribute to her grandmother in a very touching way.
“I recently saw photos of my grandma when she was my age and we look so much alike,” Lakyn’s video reads over footage of her applying makeup. “Today is her 71st birthday and I have the perfect gift idea for her.”
Lakyn then shows herself with her hair, makeup, clothing, and glasses in her grandmother’s style.
Lakyn is visibly emotional about how much she looks like her grandmother in the mirror, and the footage shows Lakyn imitating the styles and poses of various vintage photographs of her grandmother that she then shows one after the other. “Thanks for the good genes,” she captioned her post.
The resemblance is absolutely perfect!

Of course, people in the comments were impressed with Lakyn’s style and makeup ability, and many wanted to see her grandmother’s reaction.
“This is precious! I want to see her react!!” one commenter left, while another added, “I can’t believe I’m crying over two people I’ve never met.”
