Every now and then, a beauty trend comes back into the light as if it just got discovered. Then, everybody jumps on the bandwagon.
It seems to be the case with the latest “soap brows’ look that’s taking over Instagram. If you’ve never heard of it, don’t feel too bad — I hadn’t either. But, believe it or not, it’s easy to accomplish.
So what is this beauty trend all about, you ask?
It’s as simple as it sounds. You can use a bar of soap to fluff out your brows and keep them in place. Wow, doesn’t that sound easy enough? Let’s dive into it more.
Okay, first off, why would you use a bar of soap to groom your brows?
It’s because makeup artists prefer to use soap due to its stronger hold on hair. And it’s also a lot more simple and affordable. Yay!
I say, why would you question the professionals?
After all, they do this job for a living, so they should know, no? Many of them explain that this trick works better than a brow gel because brow gels are water-based and won’t give you that lasting hold.
I do have to point out that you shouldn’t just use any bar of soap.
Instead, you should stick to using glycerin soap. Glycerin soap has a lower pH level than any other soaps, which will prevent irritation, and that’s very important.
Now let’s move on to the actual procedure, shall we?
All you need to do is use a clean, damp spoolie and dab some soap onto it. Then you brush the hairs in an upward motion to create a fuller and thicker look.
That’s pretty much it, ladies. So simple and cheap.
You can buy a bunch of spoolies for a few bucks. And you can find a bar of glycerin soap for about a dollar. Whoa, talk about an affordable beauty trick. Am I right?
The good news is you can do this technique on naturally thicker brows and on thinner ones too.
If you have thin brows, you can just use a pencil to fill them in and follow the “soap brows” directions afterward.
One thing to keep in mind is that the soap can eventually run down into your eyes.
It can then cause some irritation, so perhaps you might need to skip this technique on those hot summer days. Other than that, go for it.
So what do you think of this latest beauty trend?
Are you on board? Will you try it on yourself? I have to admit I’m intrigued. And since it won’t cost a lot, I would be willing to give it a go.
