There’s something about a gender reveal that grinds Reddit users’ gears and turns everyone into an automatic parenting expert. Many Redditors hate the idea and never fail to express themselves in the comments.
They’re also quick to get excited when a gender reveal party goes awry, and they remind the parents why they shouldn’t have planned the party in the first instance. One similar case went viral in 2018 and is making its rounds again five years later.
If the video teaches one thing, it’s this – having toddlers around means you must always have a backup plan! Those little humans don’t care about your perfect video or month-long plans. They’ll do what they want when they want.

Toddler Bursts Gender Reveal Balloon
Brother Ruins Surprise
The video showed a mother on her way to a gender reveal party with her props as her sons are close in tow. She carried a giant black balloon with pink and blue ribbons, ready to announce the gender of her baby to her guests.
Unfortunately, her toddler had other plans.
One young boy hurried behind his mother, holding a plastic sword, while his older brother trailed further behind. Just as the mother neared her SUV to put the props in, the toddler struck! He poked the balloon with his plastic sword and revealed the contents ahead of time.
The mother was stunned for a bit before letting out a tired sigh and returning indoors. On the other hand, the toddler looked pleased with himself and wondered what he did wrong.
Many Redditors were mean to the mother as they cheered over her failed plans and chastised her for getting upset at the toddler. See some of the comments below.

There’s Nothing Wrong With Gender Reveals

Redditors can be mean when they dislike a subject and have been full-on judgmental of this poor stranger. Thankfully, if she ever reads the comments, a few supporters defended her reaction.
There’s nothing wrong with her getting visibly upset over something she carefully curated, and it has nothing to do with the eventual child’s gender. She gets points for staying calm despite having a reason to wig out on her son.
Also, it’s a good time to point out that there’s nothing wrong with gender reveal parties, and people who don’t partake aren’t morally superior.
