A staple of most people’s childhoods was the sleepover. It was a mini vacation where you didn’t have adults telling you what to do. You didn’t have a bedtime, you could eat as much junk food as you wanted, and watch all the T.V.

Not to mention all the hot gossip you got to share with your bff.

There is nothing better than that, right? Snacks, movies you aren’t allowed to watch, being petty…!
But first, you had to get parental permission to either go to a sleepover or host one.

And we all know what texting a parent can be like, especially one who likes to be funny.
In this case, a teenager reached out to the mom of a friend who was hosting the sleepover to ask her if he could attend.

Mason Brian Barclay’s friend, Houston, was having a sleepover.

And, since the two are best friends, it was important to Mason that he attend. But, he wanted to do the right thing by asking Houston’s mother himself for permission first.

He sent a text to the mother of his friend to straight-up ask her for permission.

Think right now to how your own mother might respond to that text.

It’s a wild card, right? It’s really hard to say, it could go many different ways.
And her response? It’s better than we could have hoped for.

People admire Mason for asking for permission and being very upfront about everything. And they’ve been adoring the mother for her answer.

Mason has no interest in girls so there really shouldn’t be an issue anyway. But maybe the dad will have to watch out now…

People are loving the story, and of course it’s blowing up all over the internet!

Even perfect strangers are messaging Houston’s mom to see if Mason actually attended the sleepover with her permission.
