Alright folks, things are about to get weird.
You know Patrick Star and Gary the snail from Spongebob Squarepants ? One being Spongebob’s best friend and neighbor and the other being his pet (kind of) cat?
Yeah, well those two are related.
All this stems from an episode during Season 4.
The episode is called “Rule of Dumb”. It’s about Patrick finding out he’s a King and being mean to SpongeBob. Typical animated show fair.
But what happens, in the end, is the part that is shocking.
They find out there was a smudge on the family tree and Gary is, in fact, the rightful king.
Which means him and Patrick are somehow related… actually, we’ll tell you exactly how:
It all starts with King Amoeba, who marries Queen Mildew (a female fish). Those two give birth to Maw Tucket (A starfish).
Maw Tucket marries Billy Bob (another starfish)…
And those two give birth to Herb (starfish) and Sluggo (a snail). Herb meets up with Margie and they have Patrick. Sluggo and an unknown mother then have Gary!
Gary and Patrick are cousins! How weird is that?!
