When it comes to planning a wedding , many people are very particular. Some women dream of their wedding from the day they realize that they are going to have one eventually. Many young girls think about what their “perfect day” would be on their wedding day.
From there, they pull from social media, movies , and other people’s weddings to create this picture-perfect day in their minds—and many will go through just about anything to get it.
Some brides tend to go a bit overboard when it comes to planning their big day.
Many brides strive to have the perfect wedding day and sometimes, that means they have to go through a lot to get it. Many women will stress themselves crazy, spend countless dollars, and even hurt friends and family just so they can achieve their “ideal” wedding day.
Many women often turn into bridezillas.
The term bridezilla is used to describe a bride that turns into an absolute monster while planning her wedding day. So much so that she hurts everyone around her just so she can have her moment in the sun. Sometimes, it comes down to little things that shouldn’t even matter—but to the bridezilla, they do.
Recently, one Facebook user reached out to those on social media for some help with her SIL—the bridezilla.
An anonymous Facebook user posted onto a group seeking advice about her “hair.” The user said that her brother is getting married in September and she was asked to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. The bride requested that everyone in her bridal party have “natural hair.”
However, the Facebook user’s hair is very, very red.
The Facebook user said that her hair currently is very red. She knew that they wanted “natural hair” for the wedding, but she decided to dye her hair anyway, despite this.
Her SIL and brother said that she has to dye her and have “natural hair” or that she will not be in the bridal party and be a part of the wedding.
She said she was “confused” a bit.
While she takes accountability for “coloring her hair as she pleases,” she said she thought people were picked for a bridal party based on who they are, not what they look like. She said she doesn’t want to “murder” her hair just to get it to a natural color—as dying it that much would definitely damage it.
She asked if she should wear a wig or what others would do in her situation.
She then asked Facebook users if they knew of a place to get a good wig to cover her red hair for the wedding. She shared a photo of the hairstyle that her SIL wants all of the girls to wear for reference in case anyone would be able to find her a good wig until then.
The post was re-shared onto Reddit, and many had thoughts on the matter.
Some Reddit users said if she doesn’t want to change her hair, she can just attend the wedding as a guest and not as a bridesmaid. It’s not the end of the world to not be part of the wedding party—plus, the day is long and full of pictures and other daunting tasks if you’re in the bridal party.
Others wondered why she dyed her hair in the first place.
Some people online said that while they disagree with brides requesting someone change their entire look just for their wedding—they were confused as to why the Facebook user had dyed her hair red if she knew that the bride wanted “natural hair” for the wedding. They said that it seems like she dyed her hair red just to piss the bride off.
Many agreed with this thought.
“Yeah, bridesmaids should be based on connection above all else, but the post is kind of dripping with Main Character Syndrome. Can’t go three months without changing hair color? And it can’t possibly ever change to a natural shade? What kind of adults talk in those kinds of petty extremes,” CharlotteLucasOP asked.

One person pointed out that her “red hair” won’t be remotely natural if she dyes it.
young_coastie shared that they have been dying their hair red for years and for her own wedding, her hairdresser tried to pull the color and lighten it to blonde—which, ended up being peach. She loved it, but it wasn’t the blonde that was natural.
“The point is, this person is not going to get close to this light without severely damaging her hair. Red is forever basically, especially that kind of red,” she said.
However, one Reddit user did offer some advice.
“Honestly girlie just needs a brown wig with bangs and she will be all set. That hairstyle that the bride wants requires a specific haircut anyway and unless all of her other bridesmaids have extensions, layers, and curtain bangs (which like I guess is possible but not probable) that hairstyle isn’t going to happen anyways,” shared Coquettepeach .
