There is nothing more discouraging than seeing a new mom on social media get hate for their postpartum body. Imagine carrying another human inside you for nine months only to be met with negativity and insults?!
Now, fitness influencer Emily Skye is taking a stand against the horrible comments, and moms everywhere couldn’t be more grateful.

With over 2.5 MILLION Instagram followers, it’s safe to say Emily’s audience is tuned into her message.
Emily is a mom to two young children, having recently given birth to her son Izaac in June.
The 35-year-old has been candid with her audience about her postpartum body. While most of the feedback she receives is positive, it is the internet after all — someone just has to be terrible.
Emily has seen an influx of negative comments and now, she’s taking a stand against the hate.
In a new Instagram post, she began by recounting the insults she’s been thrown at since giving birth, including “RIP fit body”, “Yuck ”, “Your body is ruined” , and “Reminds me to never have kids.”
“You know what though? I’d rather it come from others than myself. What I think of myself & constantly tell myself is FAR more important than what others think & say to me,” she continued.
“I’ve said this before – I LOVE my body so much & am grateful for everything it has done for me & my kids! I made a promise to myself the day I gave birth to my son Izaac (on my lounge room floor btw ) that if I were to ever have negative thoughts about my body I’d remind myself of what it’s done for me & how blessed I am. I haven’t yet had to remind myself though.”
“It makes me sad when I hear people say terrible things about the way they look. Love for yourself & your body isn’t easy & takes time to learn how to do it but I believe it’s SO important. The best way to love your body I think is to appreciate what it DOES for you – focus on that & nourish it with nutritious food, exercise & rest.”
“I absolutely love being fit & strong & my current goals is to improve my fitness. That doesn’t mean I don’t love my body when I’m not at my “peak” though. I truly loved my body throughout my pregnancies, right after giving birth & I love it just as it is right now & will continue to love it for the rest of my life. I have even more reason to since becoming a mother & I want to be a good example for them.”
She concluded by thanking those who are motivating her with their hate.
“I always try to turn a negative into positive though & I’m using them as motivation. So thank you nasty people, instead of bringing me down you’ve only made me stronger, more determined & more resilient.”
