Despite going through a tumultuous divorce, Kelly Clarkson has been putting on a brave face and has been rocking it lately. Not only is she an amazing mom of two, but the singer also hosts her own talk show and is a judge on The Voice . In the words of the 2011 Sarah Jessica Parker rom-com, I Don’t Know How She Does It !
As fans know, the 39-year-old announced that she was separating from husband Brandon Blackstock last year.
The divorce has been nothing short of a legal battle over everything , most recently the couple’s property in Montana, where Brandon had been working full-time as a rancher — while Kelly primarily lived and worked in Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, the judge ruled that the Montana ranch officially belongs to Kelly based on the terms of their prenuptial agreement.
Of course, Brandon did not take this well and is continuing to contest the prenup.
Now, fans believe Kelly is giving an ominous message with her latest cover on her talk show.
While doing her rendition of Billie Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever” Kelly changed the lyrics from “I don’t relate to you / I don’t relate to you, no / ‘Cause I’d never treat me this [explective]/ You made me hate this city” to “I don’t relate to you / I don’t relate to you, no / ‘Cause I’d never treat me this [explective]/ I get it, you hate this city.”
She concluded with the lines, “You ruined everything good / Always said you were misunderstood / Made all my moments your own / Just [explective] leave me alone.”
Fans were quick to assume the changed lyrics from the breakup ballad were a nod to her ex.
“I know Kelly felt this even more now that she’s getting divorced,” wrote one fan.
“It hurts me that she can relate to these lyrics probably more than anyone else could,” agreed another.
“Every time I see kelly sing like a song like this I can see like a lot of emotion in her eyes,” said a different fan.
It’s clear Kelly is the undeniable queen of breakup ballads, always and forever!
