Gene Wilder is one the most iconic old Hollywood actors of all time. His work has stood the test of time, and fans are taking what would have been his 87th birthday to honor the actor and his iconic roles.
My personal fav Gene Wilder role is, of course, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory .
It makes the Tim Burton version look… dismal, to say the least.
The 1971 classic *Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory* is arguably Gene’s most iconic role. I mean come on, he was the BEST Willy Wonka ever!
However, many fans would argue his depiction of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein in the 1974 film Young Frankenstein is a close second.
Gene’s talents didn’t end with acting. He was a true ~Renaissance~ man of the arts.
He directed, wrote, and produced films. In addition to his on screen skills, Gene was a singer-songwriter and an author!
He truly was an unstoppable force!
A fun fact about Gene, he actually used a stage name! Born Jerome Silberman, he adapted his screen name before his first role in *Bonnie and Clyde* in 1967.
What a legendary actor that Hollywood and it’s fans miss everyday!
