These past few months have been some of the most tumultuous for movies and TV . It seems everything is either being pushed back or canceled outright.
Recently, NBC announced that they would be canceling three of their most popular shows.
Suffice it to say, fans are not happy upon hearing the news, and we can’t blame them! It’s hard to say goodbye to shows.
You can’t escape it. In the TV world, every season is a do or die for the cast and crew. They never know if they’ll come back for another season.
And as fans, that waiting game is really tough.
All we want is our favorite shows to make a comeback.
So when your favorite show ends up getting taken off the air, it’s really heartbreaking to see it go.
It’s the worst nightmare of any fan.
Unfortunately, fans who live by NBC are dealing with three of their shows being canceled!
That’s a lot in one go!
Needless to say, they really aren’t taking it well. Would anyone, really? Personally, I would be distraught.
This past week, NBC unveiled its Primetime schedule for the upcoming fall season.

A number of heavy hitter favorites were given the green-light for renewal, including Law and Order: Special Victims Unit .
I personally would have been okay with just two decades’ worth of episodes but hey, what do I know?
Unfortunately, the announcement also included a slew of favorites that will not be returning.
NBC giveth and NBC taketh away!
The announcement was extremely bittersweet as several fan favorites were marched to the chopping block. You may want to be sitting down for this next part…
The first show named was *Indebted*, starring Fran Drescher.

Indebted followed the misadventures of young parents Dave (Adam Pally) and Rebecca.
After landing themselves in serious financial trouble, the older parents are forced to move into the home of their son and daughter-in-law.
Then came *Sunnyside*, starring Kal Penn.

Kal Penn starred as Garret Modi in Sunnyside .
Garrett is a former New York City councilman who finds renewed purpose in life by helping a group of new immigrants discover the American Dream!
And finally, *Bluff City Law*.

How many TV shows, specifically courtroom drama/cop shows has Jimmy Smits starred in over the course of his career?
By now I’m pretty sure he’d be able to ace the Bar Exam and open up his own practice.
Each show didn’t last more than a season and needless to say, fans are not happy with the news.
They never even got a chance!
All three shows had their own unique set of challenges, but ultimately what it boiled down to was ratings.
Many took to Twitter to voice their disapproval and beg in vain for their favorite show(s) to be saved!
The sentiment is real! This is just one of many tweets from outraged, disappointed fans.
I couldn’t agree more about Bluff City Law . It was just starting to get off the ground!
Personally, I can understand why fans are so mad. How do we really know if a show is good after only one season?
The thing about first seasons is that they usually tend to be the worst season of a show.
It takes time to really form an entire show, and sometimes season one is like the rough draft.
But on the other hand, if the show was really good, even if the first season was a little rough, it would still get the okay to move along for a second season.
But I suppose that is why the people at the top make the decisions! They have the numbers, they know what people like, and the first season of these shows were simply not enough.
But hey, fans are allowed to mourn.
With a little hope and a lot of luck, perhaps one day we will see them again!
There’s always the possibility that one or all three get picked up by Netflix, right?
There are so many streaming services that do those things.
What shows have been canceled during your TV watching career that really upset you?
I’m sure everyone has at least one that they will never forget about!
Let us know what they are (or if you’re upset about these three) below in the comments!
